I am extremely blessed and excited to announce my commitment to Cumberland University to continue my academic and athletic career! First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability and opportunity to play the game I love at the next level. Through every high and low I know He has had a plan for me and I give all the glory to Him. I want to thank my family for the countless sacrifices they have made for me throughout this journey. For the endless hours at the field, the long drives, the practices, tournaments, lessons, and everything else that has helped me get to this point. None of this would have been possible without their love and support. To all of my coaches, teammates, friends, and everyone who has supported me along the way, thank you for believing in me, pushing me to become better, and helping shape me into the player and person I am today. Every coach and teammate I have had throughout this journey has played a part in getting me here and I will always be grateful. A huge thank you to Coach Balmer, Coach Balderas, Coach Olsson, and Coach Lee. I am super excited for what’s to come and incredibly grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get to work. 100% COMMITTED. All Glory to God. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”- Proverbs 16:3 #gophoenix #committed #cumberlandbaseball

Asher Stephens | OF | 2027 Prospect | Gainesville High School Perfect Game National OF #315 | Georgia OF #24 6’0” | 195 lbs | R/R Stephens continues to build an intriguing offensive profile in the 2027 class, combining a physical right-handed bat with athleticism and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. At 6-foot, 195 pounds, there’s noticeable strength throughout the frame, but he pairs that physicality with athletic actions and moves well for his size. At the plate, Stephens shows a balanced right-handed swing with the ability to generate leverage and drive the baseball with authority. In this look, he gets into his lower half well, creates separation and stays through the baseball with a strong finish. There’s present power in the swing, and when he gets the barrel out front, he has the strength to do damage. The ball jumps off the bat with carry, giving him legitimate extra-base and home-run impact. Stephens is more than just a physical power bat. There’s athleticism to his game that shows up outside the batter’s box as well. He moves well underway and brings another dynamic element to his offensive profile with his ability to create pressure on the bases. In the outfield, Stephens’ athleticism and physicality give him a strong foundation defensively. He moves well for his frame and has the tools to cover ground, while his arm strength gives him another asset from the outfield. Stephens continues to look like an intriguing 2027 prospect with a combination of physicality, power and athleticism. The right-handed bat has impact, there’s strength behind the swing, and his ability to affect the game in multiple ways makes him a name to continue following in Georgia’s 2027 class.
