I’ve just delivered 4 sculptures inspired by pond life, and made with all the children (that’s approximately 480 children!) at Christchurch Junior school, to the garden @redhousemuseum where they will be on display for half term and then all but one will return to the school to take up residence by their pond. It’s been so lovely to work with so many great children. We’ve made hairy legs for a pond skater, lenses for the eyes of a dragonfly, the breathing skin of frogs and newts. We’ve sketched out shapes and ideas. We’ve been a team and I think together we’ve made some great art works. Year 3 made the dragonfly, year 4 made the pond skater, year 5 the frog and year 6 the newt. It’s been epic and my hands are sore!!!

We’ve had a few textile workshops over the last week… soft and squidgy needle felt pumpkins, beguiling beginners crochet, beautiful macramé wall hangings and colourful coiled bowls. Thanks to @sobobeach and @redhousemuseum for beautiful venues where we felt immersed in the ever-changing weather! #needlefelting #crochet #macramé
