This fella attacked my foot with full determination a couple days ago. 😾 I was fairly proud for being proactive (even though i feel under the weather) and stopping infection quickly on two spots where his teeth sank in deeply (this never happens, but he was upset that i wanted my bed to myself. I'm convalescing from the flu and after 4 days of him occupying it, i shook my blanket and changed my sheets and just wanted a fur-free zone for a little while! Echinacea IS helping in and out and also goldenseal, especially in the blend called "Got your Back," from @redmoonherbs which our friend @jeanniedunn99 sent my way, THANK YOU!✨️ since it is the champion of all tinctures, in my opinion ❤️🌙🌿 They're all great, but these herbs are my biggest allies. I discovered another spot on the bottom of my foot, just now, duh... not realizing where all the pain was coming from before... and decided to try these herbs but also poke oil topically. There is no open wound anymore but an owy bump inside my foot, in the arch of my foot. Preparing to use a dandelion/plantain poultice to draw out whatever is in there. Hope to get back in good shape before the weekend markets and next weekend's Plant Magick Women's Herbal gathering where I'll teach and learn from so many other great teachers! Join us!🌱🍃💚

Sometimes you just need time with women — outside in nature, hands in the dirt, learning from each other, and remembering how good it feels to be together. 🌿 These are the kinds of stories we love telling at Venus Rising Media — stories about belonging, empowered women, and finding our way back to the Earth and to each other. We had such a good time creating this piece for @plantmagickgathering featuring @redmoonherbs and getting a little glimpse into the magic coming this fall. If this kind of gathering speaks to you, Plant Magick is happening October 8–11 at Sacred Mountain Waters ! Bring a friend, come on your own, come curious. There’s a place for you in the circle. 🌙🌿 Register Now at plantmagickgathering.com #herbalism #wnc #WomenInNature #documentaryfilm #brandstorytelling

In July, we took our Wild Foraged Apothecary class into the city of Asheville. 🌿 We spent the day urban foraging, gathering plants like violets, burdock, kudzu, and more, then headed back to the @frenchbroadfoodcoop to turn our harvest into herbal medicine. With the wisdom and guidance of our instructors, @lupolove3.0 , @redmoonherbs and @melissadfryar , we made a decision peach leaf elixir, a gorgeous violet summertime lotion, a sweet fig leaf simple syrup, and a jewelweed, pine, and calendula wound wash. Now the seasons are shifting, and so is the medicine. Our final Wild Foraged Apothecary of the year will focus on ROOTS + RESINS. We’ll spend the day wildcrafting, learning directly from the plants, and making a plethora of herbal medicine together from what we gather. 🌿 Join us for our last in person foraging class of the year.
