Most food travels 1,500 miles before it reaches your plate.

But not this food.

This short video captures what we mean when we say, “Eat Like You Live Here.”

We're so excited about how this project showcases our work, from local farms ➡️our warehouse ➡️ your kitchen.

A huge thank you to the team at @hopkinshousecreative, including but not limited to @isaacanderson and @reneolmosdp, for all their hard work!

⚠️ Parts of the Triangle are now in exceptional drought — the highest category — and it hasn’t rained at RDU since May 25th.

Here’s what that actually means for the farmers growing your food right now:

🌾 Irrigation costs are skyrocketing — farmers who budgeted for a normal season are paying far more to keep fields alive, on top of already rising fertilizer and fuel costs

💧 Irrigation ponds are running dangerously low, with no end in sight

🥀 Some are being forced to sacrifice entire fields because there simply isn’t enough water

This is a real crisis happening in our backyard, and local farmers are carrying the weight of it.

Now more than ever, where you spend your grocery money matters.

Our Harvest Box this week supports 6 different NC farming families in a single box — peaches, blackberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, and more. Real food from real people doing everything they can to get through a brutal season.

Show up for them this Summer, whether with a Produce Box or at your local farmers markets. 🌱 Learn more in our bio.

🥬 Our wet rack at our Hillsborough store is 13/16 local produce, serving up everything from crunchy romaine lettuce to beautiful bok choy to crisp kale. 3 of our local farms/distributors filling this space are @redsqualityacre, @sankofafarms, and @happydirtproduce! Local never looked so good! 😍
