Some conversations may feel difficult to begin, but they can become meaningful opportunities for connection and trust.

Our “Beyond the Taboo” workshop brought parents together to explore how we can navigate the big, sometimes uncomfortable questions children ask — with openness, confidence and care.

A heartfelt thank you to @reebadaniell for facilitating such an engaging and thoughtful session, and to everyone who participated in these important conversations.

Because open conversations help build strong, trusting relationships.

What a mother needs in the immediate postpartum period.. whether she is breastfeeding, pumping, combination-feeding or bottle-feeding, is not just information. She needs practical, day-to-day tips and hacks that actually make life with a newborn a little easier.

For example, one little trick I used several times when Maya was a baby was leaving behind a T-shirt, nightie or pyjama that I had worn, sometimes with a little breast milk rubbed onto it. It carried my smell along with the smell of my milk, and that familiar scent could help soothe her and keep her calmer until I was back.

There are so many small things like this that can make the postpartum period easier, comfortable feeding positions and techniques, ways to soothe a crying baby, different ways to help a baby settle and sleep, baby-carrying and baby-wearing tricks, skin-to-skin and other ways of bonding, and simply learning to read your own baby's cues.

But alongside all these practical skills, one of the most important things a new mother needs is a village.

And that village doesn't necessarily have to look like the traditional extended family anymore. When Maya was little, I received a lot of support from the Facebook groups and online communities I was part of. Just knowing that there were other mothers going through similar things, sharing what worked for them and reassuring each other made a huge difference.

I would absolutely recommend that today's mothers find good online communities too, but don't underestimate the power of an offline village. Even if you can find just two other mothers with babies or toddlers around the same age, that little circle can become an incredible support system.

Sometimes you don't need twenty people around you. You need two or three people who understand this phase of life, with whom you can exchange ideas, ask for help, laugh about the difficult days and feel supported in doing what you believe is right for you and your baby.

Postpartum isn't meant to be figured out entirely alone. Practical knowledge helps, but so does having people beside you while you figure it out.

In this episode, @reebadaniell and I unpack so many layers of postpartum, sharing our personal experiences along with crucial information that I genuinely believe every couple should know, preferably before entering this phase, so they can be better prepared. And if you're already in the postpartum phase, there will be so much here that you'll watch and immediately resonate with.

In this particular clip, we talk about something we've probably undervalued all our lives, sleep. And then postpartum happens, and suddenly you understand its importance! 😄 It's almost like stubbing your little toe and suddenly becoming VERY aware that it exists.

Go watch the full episode, you'll love this conversation. ❤️

✨ **completed 2 Years of Women on Wheels journey** ✨

2 years completed but, this journey has given me so much more than memories, it has given me confidence, independence, friendships and countless beautiful moments. ❤️

As a disabled woman, being part of "Women on Wheels" has shown me that the road is not just about reaching a destination; sometimes, it’s about discovering yourself along the way. ♿️

I’m deeply grateful to have my sister, sister-in-law and my kids, beside me, supporting me, encouraging me and making my journey more special. And of course, my wonderful "Women on Wheels group", who have made this journey even more meaningful. ❤️

There have been challenges, laughter, adventures and moments that I will cherish forever. This trip has reminded me that life becomes more beautiful when we step out of our comfort zone, explore and give ourselves the freedom to experience something new.

I am expecting more road trips like this, more roads to travel, more memories to create, and more moments where we can truly find ourselves. 🛣️

Inthis beautiful episode on the fourth trimester, a survival guide to postpartum, I sit down with birth doula and childbirth educator @reebadaniell to discuss the many aspects of postpartum that couples need to equip themselves for, ideally during pregnancy, but at least in those first few weeks after childbirth.

In this small bite from the episode, I talk about some of the physical changes that can take us by surprise postpartum. But the full conversation goes much deeper, into the physical, emotional, relational and practical changes that come with this phase, and how couples can prepare themselves better for it.

If you're preparing for pregnancy, or even if you're simply curious about what no one talks about after childbirth, this postpartum conversation is one of the most comprehensive discussions you can watch. Postpartum is often the most overlooked phase of a woman's life, even though it can be one of the most physically, emotionally, and psychologically transformative.

In this conversation, we explore what really happens after birth, how family and society influence a mother's experience, what you can plan for in advance, and practical ways to reduce the risk of challenges like postpartum depression. We also share our own postpartum journeys -the lessons, the struggles, and what we wish every new parent knew beforehand.

Joining me is Reba Daniel, my dear friend, mentor, and guide, who is also a birth doula and childbirth educator. Together, we've packed this conversation with the kind of information we wish every expecting couple had before welcoming a baby.

Do watch the video, and let us know your biggest takeaway in the comments. If you found it valuable, please like, share, and subscribe to the channel for more meaningful conversations like this.

Once upon a time, there lived a village.
When we look back, it was more than just bamboo frames and burlap shades…
Whether temporary or permanent, a space holds countless memories, as fresh as a morning daisy.
