Heres a raw look at what Down an tight on a nice bluefin looks like. This fish was erratic , wanted to swim right into the motors and go under the boat the whole time. Me and @ikhan008 got it done in about 15-20min. Fish hit a live squid🦑 on the bottom . Fish was around 60inches #bluefintuna #tuna #fishing #longisland #ocean

A boat and a captain are as successful as the crew on board makes it . I can gather intel, keep the boat maintained, and make the calls , but it’s who you call that ultimately will determine whether your day was a success or failed attempt. With that being said it’s a blessing to have some killers on board week after week🩸🩸🩸 #fishing #tuna #bluefin #longisland #slightlystoopid

I already loved this boat but man I’m smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. Every time we get the deck bloody or plow through a wave , shit just the fuel burn numbers have me smiling . All that work in Florida this winter really paid off. Thankyou to @ikhan008 for the photos 📸 shout out @intoboatstuff and @navarros_boatrestoration_llc

Yesterday I had a plan , set up on my first drift an quickly realized the wind said “fuck your plan”. Now the plan was to catch some fish, Not catch a buzz an watch the sunrise with @jeepkid17 that’s just a bonus . So to the ocean I went in search of bunker. Seeing those flicks on surface isn’t easy when its 3-4s an blowing 20 , anyways 0 beers, an a couple fish later here’s my first shitty reel of 2025. Perseverance paid off - then I had beers….

1.5 hour giant fight in Montauk this past summer 🎣 4-5 foot waves close together made it extra challenging. This day we stopped 12 miles out which felt like 24 miles because we were taking a beating. Ran into insane feeds 7 miles short of our destination. Whales and dolphins were shredding the surface in every direction we looked. We knew big fish were in the area and a few promising marks confirmed it. Didn’t take long for my 280 gram to connect a few cranks from the bottom. I got the fish about 6 feet from the surface and can see she was a 80-90" mass. The vertical bounce from the bow made it tough to control in the front and my tanks were empty. Made a last ditch effort to run it to the back. The big waves made the boat difficult to turn on a dime. Fish started moving faster than the boat could turn and went straight under. Line hit the bottom hull and somehow dislodged the jig without snapping the line. All I wanted was a boat side photo on a solo giant but oh well. That’s what keeps us coming back for more.

Not the bite we were expecting, but we got it done. Had to work hard for these birds. Chunked and jigged for 9 hrs straight. Set up in a new spot and chunking hard again, and finally got a pack to aggressively feed behind the boat. Whole butters got the bite. Make sure you hide those hooks right. We dropped a couple fish on the deck in under 10 mins and then they were gone. Got back to the dock later than expected, but the persistence paid off.
