Weekly recap! Training felt HARD this week- humidity, stress, and lack of sleep. 15 miler absolutely destroyed me, it felt so difficult. Couldn’t have done it all this week without @reeselledge!! Also had a fun hometown besties with their college friends meetup🥰🌆

Running around☀️🏃🏼‍♀️
Added a cycling class into the mix this time. It kind of hurt my quads but was so fun!!🚴🏼‍♀️
I’ve been having difficulty waking up early so this weeks runs have all been evening runs. It’s nice but also I spend the entire day thinking about it.

i trained for 6 months to swim .37 miles😓

definitely thought this was going to be a fun and celebratory post about me finishing the ironman 70.3 race in rockford yesterday, but unfortunately i didn’t even make it through the first thirty minutes of the race. however i wanted to post bc me failing felt really embarrassing and shameful and i didn’t want to talk about it, but ultimately those feelings come from my limited perspective. yesterday i cried for the months and miles i spent working towards this goal, thinking of myself as a failure and thinking of this experience as a waste, but today i see that yesterday was not the defining moment of the last six months. it was just a drop in the water! while in the moment, it seemed like the most important day and, therefore, the worst day to fail, the most important day was actually the day i knew there was a big chance i would not finish this race and decided i would do it anyways😸 and i am so lucky that while i was crying in the med tent (even tho i was fine) i looked up and saw nick and maya coming to pick me up and celebrate me anyways.

this is all to say that ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH DOING BAD! can’t wait to try again eventually now that i’ve learned how to swim and ride a bike😊 but yes i’m still sad and that’s okay

Honestly, this was a tough week. I’m adjusting to a new schedule and it has been so exhausting. I did a nice run earlier in the week and a crazy run/lift/swim today with Reese. So the week ended better than it started. Ready to be so back next week🤞🏼🥰💗

What a fun and super active week!! 25 miles running, 9 miles biking, 750 yards swimming, and an hour lift!! Feeling so strong but also tired haha. Couldn’t have done today’s run/swim combo without @reeseonpace 💗

50 minute swim this morning with Reese (1400 yards)!! She’s going to kill it at her half ironman💪💪. I forgot how fun swimming is, but boy is it challenging.👯‍♀️🏊🏻‍♀️ Also, why has nobody hyped up the Ray pool?!?
