ONE WEEK since we rocked the @thefoxandfirkin in aid of @refugeecommunitykitchen 🎛🥘

Thank you to all those who came out and brought the immaculate weekend vibes 🫰

We loved being back together, sharing the good food, Glasto fail stories and glorious beats, all the way from 3pm ➡️ 3am.

Big up to all our acts, volunteers, RCK cooks, bar staff, managers, hosts, photographers and everyone else who got involved.

And big up those who bought tickets and donated to the cause... we raised a mighty £4,500 for @refugeecommunitykitchen. That's almost 1800 meals funded, and we couldn't be more grateful 🥹

When you realise you actually made the thing...

Last Saturday was everything @glastothecommon x @refugeecommunitykitchen. Actual Glasto energy in South East London. Train takeovers, kids stories, podcasts, DJs, live bands, stalls, hot food.

We raised £4.5k for Refugee Community Kitchen and the vibes flawless from 3pm to 3am++ 😜

I've been doing this for 20+ years now, and in time you forget your North Star ✨ Its been a year.
That show brought it all back. Thank you for turning out 💚

Being able to share music I love, with people I admire, for causes we believe in, collective action crafting independent spaces @thefoxandfirkin has been... cathartic.

Thank you to the whole team, the artists, the volunteers, the kitchen.

Uncommon were lucky enough to support this amazing fundraiser for @refugeecommunitykitchen at the @thefoxandfirkin last weekend!

RCK is a charity close to our hearts at Uncommon. We strongly believe that everyone deserves access to food, no matter where they come from or what their background may be 🌍

In a world that feels increasingly divided, we believe in the power of unity. Music, collaboration and working together can bring people from all walks of life together, creating positive change and helping make the world a better place 🎶🤝

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this fundraiser happen. It’s amazing to see what we can achieve when we come together for a cause that matters ❤️

Dopo tre giorni nella cucina @refugeecommunitykitchen devo addatarm alla vita normale. La distribuzione di martedì è stato impressionante. Troppa gente in una situazione così difficile.
Hoeveel mensen waren er op die distributie? 500, 600? Zo groot heb ik het lang niet meegemaakt. Zoveel jonge mensen ook. Maar ook zoveel vriendelijkheid, ondanks de situatie. ‘Serving food with dignity’, ondanks alles.
Nu even wat van me af schrijven bij @tslotwaalwijk .

The energy, the music, the community it was brilliant. To see so many people come together for such an important cause was truly humbling.

A massive highlight for me was meeting the absolute legend @gladdywaxsounds . What a moment! 🎵🔥 ❤️💛💚

But more than the music, it was about the people. I met so many incredible, like-minded souls, including some powerful women. The conversations, the connections, and the shared vision for a better world made the night unforgettable.

Thank you to the organisers, the volunteers, the artists, and everyone who stopped by my stall. You are all doing the work. You are all making the world a better place.

Ive been a promoter since 2005. That's 20+ years of hustle, flyering, badgering besties and reluctant content creation.

Think MySpace into Facebook "Invite All", into battling algorithms. Think decades of late night graphic design and ticket sale anxiety.

Today we've managed to sell hundreds of tickets for Saturday's @glastothecommon x @refugeecommunitykitchen fundraiser purely through community. No paid ads (until y'day). Just love and hard work.

Tomorrow 17.10.26 @foxandfirkin is one of my last London shows for a very long time. I've programmed three stages and 12 hours of Glasto fun with the help of @steve_bedlam @vivekgudi @linneadid @rosalindmoody @_jessicasnow_ and a small army of volunteers. And @buildhollywood for supporting Refugee Community Kitchen with this poster campaign 💚

Glastonbury 2016… one of the really muddy years. So muddy the cars on the roads in were at a standstill. I had to sleep in a colleague’s tent who I’d randomly bumped into (thanks @lawlessyo) because mine was in my friend’s car and stranded outside the gates…

My main set that year was in a tent. Playing Glastonbury is still a big deal however many times you’ve played but it was only my second year playing so I was feeling the pressure. It was raining so much that I knew it would be packed. Result! However, 10 mins before my set started the sun came out and people literally flooded out of the tent. I ended up playing to about 10 people and I’d been too nervous to eat beforehand so was also very hungry. Not the best frame of mind to try and salvage a set! This was also the year @jculpeppermusic and I and his wheelie suitcase had an epic journey out!

I love failure stories for many reasons and Glastonbury is one of those places where so much mad stuff happens. So I’m very excited to be hosting a talk all about Glastonbury fails for the wonderful @rumshackglasto in aid of the equally wonderful @refugeecommunitykitchen tomorrow at @thefoxandfirkin. I am chatting to three legends @jamesbarnett1974 @ayosartofgiving @steve_bedlam and can’t wait to dig into their tales. Come thru, the rest of the lineup is really really good and it’s in aid of an important cause.

Also… for the record all my sets at Rum Shack have been corkers!!
