@reidy__ gave me some solid advice in 2023 🤝

Excited to toe the line at @bonditomanlyultra again after three years!

Flying across the country for this race

The painful reality of dementia often goes unspoken. In a raw and vulnerable conversation, Bondi Rescue lifeguard Andrew “Reidy” Reid opens up about the impossible decisions faced when caring for a parent navigating this cruel disease.

Reidy explores the internal conflict of prioritizing quality of life versus simply keeping a loved one alive, and the heartbreaking realization that even well-intentioned gestures—like taking his mum out for dinner—can lead to profound confusion and distress. It’s a candid look at the loss of connection, the silence that replaces conversation, and the struggle to hold onto memories when the current reality is defined by a slow, agonizing deterioration. A must-watch for anyone navigating the complex, often lonely, path of caregiving.

Smiling at the end.

But hurting all the way.

(Humble Brag on Slide 6… sneaky top 10 finish)

First Swim Run event done and dusted and I can’t wait to do it again. Outside the comfort zone with the open water swimming but what’s the point of doing stuff that doesn’t challenge you!?

Thanks to @whippet_ and the @currumbin_alley_cats for getting me race ready. To @craigscatpitchers for holding my hand around Vikings during training. And to the @swimrun_australia crew for an epic event that celebrates some pretty amazing parts of the beautiful Gold Coast.

@sydney_marathon 2026.

Can’t really put into words how much I loved this experience. From the people you meet on the course, to the volunteers and random strangers egging you on right when you need it, to finishing on the steps of the Opera House - it’s got it all.

Massive thank you to everyone who supported along the way, especially @millieclout, genuinely wouldn’t have gotten to the start line without you. And to my mates throwing random gear at me throughout the race to keep me going, you know who you are.

Also, to @reidy__ who paced the 3:30 group and somehow managed to get a big group of us under it. Incredibly motivating from start to finish… Still not sure I can forgive some of those songs on your speaker

Onto the next…
