Some people even call me See All I Read 😉 But you can call me *anytime* when it comes to chatting books! No matter the genre, I’m in. Say less. (But also tell me everything.)

⁉️ QOTD because I’m choosing violence: *NSYNC or Backstreet Boys? WHY?

Just a few books that sent me to an early grave. (Mostly) COMPLIMENTARY!

Emotionally: My tear ducts are still operating at a deficit.

Mentally: Broke my brain for one reason or another.

Spiritually: Altered my actual DNA.

The other two are self-explanatory — giggles and groans aplenty 😅

QOTD: Pick a category and give me your cause of death. We’ll be sure to eulogize accordingly.

✨6 Books I Rated 5 Stars This Year✨

Okay, I know I have 7 books listed, but I’m counting Veins and Wake as one since it was a duology 🤷🏻‍♀️ oh well

Thank you @chapters.with.nat for the tag! Tagging some booksta friends! Feel free to join in but no pressure at all!

Key words: five star reads | fantasy reads | romantasy reads | dystopian | favorite reads so far | book recs | bookstagram | friends who read | duology | gothic romance | coffee | knave and the moon | the everlasting | in the veins of the drowning | in the wake of the ruined | crown me yours | dawn of the north | Daggermouth |

The Paradise Problem ✅ How did I wait this long to pick up @christinalauren !? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

1-sentence rundown:
After marrying a stranger to save on student housing nearly 5 years ago, Anna is surprised when the guy she thought she’d divorced reappears, invites her to a family wedding, and wins her over for real.

What stuck:
Hello, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD. Is this the norm for Christina Lauren? Because I feel the sudden need to devour them all. The spice is soooo good, not over-the-top or gratuitous but enough to scratch the itch. And the banter is perfect.

Anna is fierce, I love her so much. Favorite FMC in a minute! And Liam, you babe. He yearns for Anna, not just because she’s beautiful and there’s insane chemistry, but he takes real time to bask in her confidence and wit and smarts!

As for his family? Good lord, did my blood boil. But!!! He did stick it to Ray in the end. And the way Alex comes around at the eleventh hour! The way Jake finally grew up (however temporary). The way Janet broke freeeee. It was such a satisfying conclusion.

I’ll never get over Goddamn as a euphemism. Will probably start using it myself. Maybe I already have, tough to say.

This was a great beach read to close out summer. Thank you to @nelsonnooklittlefreelibrary for the 12x12 rec!! It won’t be my last by these ladies.

Following in the brave footsteps of @sherry_reads_books, I present this list of books I’m ashamed to have never read.

Did my sophomore lit syllabus include Jane Eyre? Absolutely. Did I ever pick it up? Nope.

Do I see everyone and their mother weeping over The Bright Years? Yes. Has that compelled me to crack it open? Clearly not.

Feel free to judge me! It’ll never come close to how harshly I judge myself. Just know I promise to mark all of these as *read* someday ❤️

Obvious QOTD: What’s a book you can’t believe you’ve never read?

From the bottom of my heart, thanks for humoring me with the emoji votes. It worked out PERFECTLY, and I now have 10 books I cannot wait to read before 2026 is over ❤️

It’s tough to say which one(s) I’m most excited about, because they’re all crowding the top of my #TBR. But the latest #BOTM arrivals — Pirate Queen and Under Story — will probably get picked up first. Recency bias and all 😘

QOTD: What’s *one* book you want to read before end of year?

Just finished Volume 5 with an obscene number of highlights, so I had to go back and see what I saved from the first one. Can you believe this was my only quote?! But even this one pull says so much about the Emma of then vs. who I know now. 🥹

I fear I won’t know a moment’s peace until I finish all 8! Put it in the HOF with all of the other series I’d give anything to read for the first time.

Have you read The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion yet? Do you have a favorite volume?

Listen! Was this 9:30 on a Wednesday? Maybe. But I didn’t miss a single meeting, no Slacks went unanswered, and the work still got done. It’s called work-life balance.

That said, I might need to exercise the DND setting moving forward.

But thank you to my besties @bookclub_society for the FYI on their latest Emma drop. These things are moving with the speed of a McDonald’s Beanie Babies Happy Meal 😮‍💨 Very excited to have volumes 1-6 on my shelf—they’re just too pretty!

QOTD: I need to know the silliest workday errand you’ve ever run. I know you have one!

August saw me gushing over July and said “hold my beer” 🍺 Two buddy reads to make a dent in our @netgalley scores, a most-discussed summer release, and the 12x12 from @jenn.newm.reads I’ve been looking forward to all year!

Highlights:
* Emma M. Lion as a whole continues to rake in 5 stars. I might need to introduce a sixth star at some point? They started great and keep getting better ❤️
* Mayluna was a devastating as I feared it would be, but I strongly recommend for a gripping *love story DRIPPING in nostalgia.
* You should read Yesteryear. Especially if it scares you. The arc is just too good.

FOUR 5-⭐️ reads this month, are you kidding? Just don’t ask me to choose one favorite. (It would be my latest Emma) I MEAN IT! (Emma, vol. 4) Don’t ask! (“Alchemy”)

⁉️ What was your favorite book this month?

Thank you @cranbrookscience @cranbrookedu for a great night at After Dark: Pages & Pours. Aka an adult scholastic book fair!

The event was a four hour affair at the Cranbrook Institute of Science including trivia, food trucks, a speciality Book Worm cocktail, and local indie bookshop favs, authors, and artisan booths.

My first stop was to @toadvinebooks for several gently used book reccs, then said hello to friends at @loveandotherbooksshop and @_rainbow_reads_ for a perfect curation of romantasy and queer romance finds. And I picked up a couple local Detroit author new reads and a hoodie from @nextchapterbooksdetroit

My favorite part of the night was connecting with a bookstagram bestie @rekroceisusreads as this event created the perfect space to catch up on life and share our darkest book secrets.

I am still in awe of the friends and community I’ve found since starting this account. And even in the darkest grief since losing my dog Lemon, there is lightness, laughter, and love.
