Happiest of birthdays to my fabulous niece, Abigail who is somehow 3 years old today! She’s such a funny, sassy, and sweet girl who loves playing with and hanging with and running around with her brothers! She’s getting so big and her little feisty personality is really starting to shine! I love that I can still steal her for snuggles and selfies! I can’t wait to see what 3 has in store for you, I hope it’s an incredible year! I love you Abby girl!

The tears are happy and sad. The ache of losing an old friend.

This show gave me so much. When it reopened after the COVID shutdown, it gave me hope that the arts could thrive again and that we could have those moments that fill my soul again. Every word feels understated.

Walking out last night knowing my happy place wouldn’t be behind the doors of the Hirsch was more than I could take in.

On Monday, they will load out, and the magic they created will become another echo in the walls and in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to experience it.

Thank you for being a place to belong, and for giving me so many people to love.

Come What May. ❤️

Had a once in a lifetime experience last night with Hang Loose tours. We saw manta rays swimming below us, sometimes only inches from our faces.

Tour today was Pearl Harbor and Iolani Palace. We were also able to get a picture with a rainbow in our background.

Happiest Birthday to this big guy who is 5 years old today! Josh is getting so big now. You're still a feisty mischevious little man trying to keep up with your big brothers but also give some of the sweetest hugs and are a funny and smart kid. You did so well in school this year and I can't believe you're off to Kindergarten next year! I love that Aunt Rachel can still get you to do selfies as long as we can do a goofy one too so I'll make silly faces with you anytime! I hope you have a great birthday and I can’t wait to see what 5 brings you! Love you so much Josh, Happy Birthday!

We’ve reached the endgame. ♟️

Over the past eight months, Chess came to mean so much more to me than I ever expected.

I walked into the first preview knowing very little about the show, but I was immediately captivated—not just by the incredible score and performances, but by the story itself.

I’ve shared with a few people throughout this run that Florence’s story is so personal because it’s also my dad’s story. He escaped Soviet-occupied Hungary in 1957 after surviving World War II to build a new life in the United States. Today, he has severe dementia and can no longer communicate or walk. Chess became a connection to him that I didn’t know I needed.

I was lucky enough to go backstage in April after Rachel and I won the fall Broadway Cares Flea Market auction. It was truly such a special day. Aaron, Nick, and Lea made us feel so at home and only reinforced what we already knew—that they’re genuinely kind, generous, humble human beings. And thank you to Sarah at BCEFA for making that day absolutely perfect.

People have asked how I could see the show so many times without getting bored. The truth is, no two performances felt the same. The acting choices, the emotional beats, the audience, the energy—it was always unique. I loved watching different cast members and discovering new layers in their performances. I was also lucky enough to see several swings and understudies. Kat, your Florence touched my soul. Daniel, your Arbiter revealed nuances I’d never noticed before. Shavey, your “Secret Squirrel” was fantastic. I only wish I could have seen everyone.

I don’t think any of us were ready to say goodbye this soon. But in theatre, it's never really goodbye.

Happy trails to this extraordinary company. Thank you for your talent, your generosity, and for creating something so special with this exquisite run. It will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

It was so much more than just a game. ♟️💖🙏
