did u know there's a new @rep_strain show coming up? probably not because instagram showed the OG post we made to like 16 people! i love the internet.

in august we are back at our favourite living room @spanners.club! we are bringing XANAX up from the coast as well as the london debut of THE GALL from glasgow. lifers of freakdom offer you slamming Electronique Body Music and feral pit-black goth computer-punk, interspersed with tunes from yourses trulyses. cheap notaflof! come through! tix are up on @gel.now, a sick new community alternative to r******t a*****r.

poster knocked together and riso'd into surprisingly waterproof form by me A hand holding a poster for the Repetitive Strain event. There are various statements around the details of the poster including "ASKING CHATGPT TO EXPLAIN MY CLUBNIGHT AND BEING SENT INTO PSYCHOSIS" and quotes of Michael Gray's hit song 'The Weekend'. The event is Xanax, The Gall and Repetitive Strain at Spanners, SW9 7EX in London. It is from 8pm - 1am on the 21st August. It is £10 advance.

Here are some photos and videos of VANITY CRYSTAL at Mystery Planes No.14, which took place on 30 May in the upstairs room of Walthamstow Trades Hall. On the poster we promised MORE ETERNAL DREAM DAMAGE 4 YR SAT-UR-DAY NITE and I think it definitely delivered. Vic / Vanity Crystal plays bass in my favourite current London band (RUBBER, who destroyed my brain at Mystery Planes No.12 back in January), co-presents the excellent monthly radio show REPETITIVE STRAIN, DJs all round town, and makes mind-melting solo music like this which filters all sorts of pop culture psychic detritus into ecstatic electronic hum.

Documentation of the SKINTERN and D.S.T sets to follow. Another Mystery Planes happening sometime, though I def need to up my promotion game a bit. What we do is secret and all that, but not THAT secret.

Next Saturday 4 July, I (Private Sorrow) will be back in the same room in my Major Trauma Sound System guise, playing tunes in between acts at a night put on by my pal Matthew (another one) to launch his @caos_modular company. Live sets from @vincentblason (record out on @bruit_direct_disques) and more. It will be an excellent evening of strange sounds, see you there?

REPETITIVE STRAIN EVENT. Back to @spanners.club for an exciting, abrasive time to see summer out. Tickets £10 on @gel.now ❗❗⛓️⛓️🎵🎵

XANAX (LIVE – Penryn, Cornwall)

Let's celebrate and vapourise: shredded electronic body music delivered in the most live and lithe sense, from minds behind GAMMA (Gob Nation) and FREAK GENES.

THE GALL (LIVE – Glasgow, Scotland)

Deadly duo making London debut, pure rectangle music: metallic synth punk facilitated by new label SHUNNING GROUND. Members have been responsible for a huge amount of Scotland's finest digital detritus and wayward noise walls of the last decade including Unmaking, Time Binding Ensemble, Anxiety and Helena Celle's Mimetic Desire.

hello! month has been month. country is country. video content to denote i am playing a couple of things v v soon:

30/05 – live set w/ my favourite shadowbanned rock band @skintern.scum at walthamstow trades hall
13/06 – spankys at @dsuperstore

most importantly, on sunday 14th june i DJ @avaloncafebermondsey for the wonderful @half.bird's fundraiser to recoup her surgery funds. aside from tirelessly spending her time fighting for other people to live, ailo is one of the most important people in the world to me. she is an amazing person who ripples with love for living things on this earth, and she deserves the walls to be heaving. she has put together a bill packed with some of the wildest shellers transgenderism could offer you, i encourage you to put down your plastic notes!

this month's solo @rep_strain is up on soundcloud etc. now. consider this my "book me for events where i can play fast" application form lol

🎵 @rooocore x @diessa__ x @lee___gamble A video of me DJing in the Voices Radio studio

This month repetitive Strain’s Vanity Crystal presents Percussion Portal, an hour of head-spinning drum destruction and spacious sonic depth charges at time-stretched slow fast BPM. Desire is to be found in the voids of your mind.
