📢 New arrival at 𝗬𝗨𝗭𝗨 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗘 📢 Oh, heard Anthony Wong is coming to town. Found a copy of Herman Yau’s 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 (1993) lying around. Loosely based on the infamous “Eight Immortals Restaurant murders” in Macau, this Category III cult classic stars Wong as a restaurant owner with a particularly “hands-on” approach to running his business.🍴😋 Come watch this stomach-churning mix of true crime and exploitation horror that definitely wouldn’t pass a food hygiene inspection. 🥸🕵️‍♀️ (All REPEAT OFFENCE screenings are private and for community members. TROYESIVAN18 STANS RISE. This October, we explore the range of queer narratives through the lens of singer-songwriter Troye Sivan’s Music Videos as well as gay horror film Leviticus (2026) directed by Adrian Chiarella (Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi !) About Troye Sivan Retrospective: In celebration of his album She’s The Best, this retrospective looks at the cinematic worlds created through his Music Videos - specifically residential environments and how queer communities can exist and thrive there. This ranges from his poignant Blue Neighbourhood Trilogy (2015) to the sweat filled parties of Rush (2023). These music videos reinterprated as short films remind us of the ability to create a home wherver we are planted but also the sobering realities and hardships that stand in the way. OTHER MVS include: She’s The Best (2026), STUD (2021), Lucky Strike (2019), Happy Little Pill (2014) AND MORE! About Leviticus (2026): Two teenage boys must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other. PROGRAMME DURATION - 2.5 hours (All REPEAT OFFENCE screenings are private and for community members. This post serves as a reminder for our members to RSVP on our exclusive Telegram channel.

SECRET ANIMATION CLUB IS BACK! Next thursday we will screen the first and last films of three different directors. Which ones? Find out at repeat offence!! 1 Oct 8PM sharp. If people are interested in it we could also do a discussion after about how a filmmaker expands and refines their vocabulary over their entire career. This program was born out of me and a friend agreeing that we hate seeing filmmaker retrospectives. But then I thought: hm. but what if we just took the front and end? I think it will be a really educational experience. But let’s see if my hypothesis is right. Ok see you there!

Come down to the first session of the baby theorist book club for an accessible, beginner-friendly, and hopefully thought-provoking discussion on Marxism! We're covering the first chapter of the German Ideology (1845) by Karl Marx himself to give us a firm theoretical basis for understanding this massively influential school of thought. Location: Repeat Offence, 195 Pearl's Hill Terrace Time: 20 Sep, Sun, 7pm - 9pm DM @comradejacksonn or @harchewy to join!

How is our landscape being defined, or looked at? With the ever-changing landscape of capitalist society, there is little we can hold on to: this HDB block will eventually be demolished, a new shopping mall will be built, and a new MRT station will soon encroach upon the little greenery that remains. As time flows, so does the landscape. To look at these structural films is to enter a kind of time tunnel, where the audience is transported through different passages of time. As the camera moves forward in Michael Snow’s Wavelength (1967), a new relationship emerges between image, space, and time. James Benning’s The United States of America (1975) takes us on a road trip from the back of a car, observing shifting political, personal, and spatial-temporal relationships across the American landscape. Sharon Lockhart’s Nō (2003), meanwhile, captures a rhythmic slice of everyday life through its static gaze. Political yet formally challenging, this programme asks us to reconsider the boundaries of cinematic time—and, consequently, how film, as a medium, interacts with time itself.
