Last week, ABCD's North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center hosted its 14th Annual Buona Sera, raising nearly $20,000 to support older adults and families in need.

We're incredibly grateful to our celebrity guests, participating restaurants, generous sponsors, and all our attendees for making this night so memorable.

Funds raised will help provide holiday meals, groceries, assistance with basic household needs, and programs that foster connection and companionship to North End and West End residents.

Grazie mille to everyone who made Buona Sera 2026 a success!

What a pleasure to join legislative leaders, school district, union, state and community partners to recognize the tremendous work being done at Mattahunt Elementary School and celebrate the role Hub Schools play in lifting up the children and families of Boston.

Hub schools, also known as Community Schools, provide a network of community-based support and services inside and outside of the classroom, bringing together educators, community members, families, and students to strengthen conditions for student learning and healthy development. Students and their families get the resources they need to thrive: from ESOL education for parents, to access to food and clothing pantries, to year-round extracurricular programming, on-site health clinics, and so much more.

Thank you to the amazing @bostonteachersunion educators who make the Mattahunt such a special school, and to all the legislators who joined us today—we look forward to working with you to bring more community schools to the Commonwealth.

Last week marked an exciting milestone for RUFF as we broke ground on the long-awaited renovation of the Richmond Street Dog Run, our original neighborhood dog park and the place where RUFF’s story began.

After years of planning, persistence and partnership, we’re thrilled to finally see this project come to life. Thank you to Leslie and Dave from our Board who have spearheaded this project and kept it moving in the right direction.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Representative Aaron Michlewitz, MassDOT, our project team, neighborhood partners and the entire RUFF community who helped get us here.

Construction is officially underway, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to a new and improved Richmond Street Dog Run! 🐶🐾

(Mensaje bilingüe) I was pleased to once again welcome House Ways and Means Chair Aaron Michlewitz to the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual state representatives’ luncheon in Lawrence.

This annual gathering gives legislators an opportunity to hear directly from local business leaders about the challenges facing small businesses across the Merrimack Valley. It also allows us to highlight resources included in the FY27 state budget, including: $5 million for small business technical assistance grants to provide relief to businesses that employ 20 or less, and $1.4 million for the Small Business Development Center to help businesses navigate the bid and contracting process.

I am grateful to Chair Michlewitz for always being a strong advocate of the Merrimack Valley and I appreciate Joe and Michael Bevilaqua of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce for helping to organize this special event.

Yesterday, @bostonseniorhomecare presented our President & CEO, Michael Curry, the Community Advocacy Award for his work on behalf of Massachusetts’ 50 community health centers.

Health centers and BSHC are united by our shared mission to give our patients the best quality of life in the communities they call home. Through health centers’ community-based, preventative care and BSHC’s at-home support, we help people avoid the emergency room and continue living independently.

Thank you, BSHC, for being a vital part of the safety net and for honoring the health center movement working alongside you. And thank you, Denella Clark, for your special introduction of Michael.

🎉 Congratulations, Michael! We're grateful for your leadership.

Proud to join Mayor Wu, Governor Healey, my state colleagues, and the James Otis Elementary School community to celebrate the completion of major building upgrades at Otis Elementary! 🏫🌱

This first-of-its-kind BPS retrofit will improve classroom comfort, indoor air quality, and student health while reducing the school’s carbon emissions. This project is an important investment in our students and a model for creating healthier, more comfortable, and sustainable schools across Boston.
