We prepare for a storm. We prepare for power outages. We prepare for emergencies by purchasing insurance. Why don’t more people prepare for loss of life by donating blood? Only 2% of Hawaii’s population cares enough to put their fear of needles aside to step up for others who can’t fight for themselves. Will you join this elite team of lifesavers? 🩸 Pearlridge Center Blood Drive - BLOODMOBILE ✅ Must be 16 years and older to donate (see the next slide for other eligibility requirements that may apply) 📅 Friday, September 11, 2026 ⏰ 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm 📍 Bloodmobile will be parked in the parking lot between Macy’s and TJ Maxx As a bonus, all donors who donate during the month of September will be AUTOMATICALLY entered to win a two-night stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa! Must be 18 years and older to win. If you aren't 18, encourage your family members and friends who are to donate! Appointments made ahead of time are appreciated as it allows us to plan our staffing and resources accordingly so we can honor your busy schedule to be in and out in a timely manner. Walk-ins will be accepted, but priority will be given to those with appointments. To schedule an appointment: • Call Blood Bank of Hawaii’s main line at (808) 848-4770 • Visit bbh.org/#blooddrive • Scan the QR code on the blood drive flyer If there's one thing Hawaii is known for, it's our ability to rally together in times of need. In case you haven’t heard, the American Red Cross has declared its second-ever national blood supply crisis as donations fail to keep pace with hospital demand during the busy summer trauma season. With only 2% of Hawaii's population donating blood, our islands often rely on blood donations from the mainland to maintain a safe blood supply. During a national crisis, that support may not be available, making local donors more important than ever. EVERY blood type is needed. A strong local blood supply ensures hospitals can provide patients with the right blood type while preserving type O blood for emergencies when every second counts. Blood Bank of Hawaii is returning to Pearlridge Center so the community can rally together to help support local patients through this challenging time. 📍 Pearlridge Center 🗓️ Friday, August 14, 2026 🕒 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm BIG NEWS! By donating at any Blood Bank of Hawaii blood drive during the months of August or September, you will be AUTOMATICALLY entered to win a two-night stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. TWO winners will be chosen!  One in August and one in September. Call Blood Bank of Hawaii at (808) 848-4770 or visit bbh.org to schedule your lifesaving appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted where space allows. When someone you love needs blood, nothing else matters except knowing it's there. By being a blood donor, you're giving hope to local patients and comfort to families in their fight for another tomorrow. Thank you for answering the call when your community needs you most. #bloodbankofhawaii #pearlridgecenter #blooddrive #supportlocal #hawaii

In case you missed it, we are in the midst of the second-ever national blood supply CRISIS as donations fail to keep pace with hospital demand during the busy summer trauma season. Blood Crisis: Considered an URGENT THREAT. Blood supplies are critically low, putting lifesaving transfusions at risk. Immediate blood donations are urgently needed to get patients the blood they need. Recovery time:  4 – 8 weeks or longer with steady donor turnout How is this different from the blood shortages you often hear about from Blood Bank of Hawaii? Blood Shortage: Considered a WARNING. Blood supplies are lower than needed, but hospitals can usually continue caring for patients while blood centers work to rebuild inventory. Recovery time:  2 – 4 weeks with steady donor turnout YOUR help is needed now! I could use your help at my personal blood drive that I am holding tomorrow at Moanalua Middle School for my friends, but also open to the community. Everyone will win a prize AND you'll be automatically entered into the Blood Bank of Hawaii sweepstakes to win a 2-night stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa! Some of the prizes you could win tomorrow: • FREE matcha drink from Ohana Hui Café • $50 gift certificate from Restaurant Suntory • $15 gift card from Off the Wall Craft Beer & Wine • $25 gift card from Jugo Life • $25 gift card from Aloha Creamery Aiea • $25 gift certificate from Serg’s Mexican Kitchen Space for walk-ins are available at any time outside of 8:00 am - 9:00 am and 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm as those are the busiest hours. Even if you can't make it to the blood drive at Moanalua Middle School tomorrow, please call Blood Bank of Hawaii at (808) 848-4770 or visit bbh.org to schedule an appointment for another location. And for those of you who always come to my blood drives, mark December 20 on your calendars for the next Hope for the Holidays Blood Drive! #bloodbankofhawaii #nationalbloodcrisis #moanaluamiddleschool #blooddrive #volunteer

After five public officials were indicted last week, we cannot afford to continue to make it this easy for government contractors to influence our leaders. Here’s how the Good Government Caucus is trying to take action—and how you can help.

Not signed up yet? What are you waiting for? Donors still needed to step up for the community ❤️ Every day, someone is counting on the kindness of a stranger to help them through surgery, cancer treatment, a serious accident, or a life-threatening illness. During the summer, blood donations drop as much as 15%, making every donor more important than ever. By donating blood, you can give a patient something priceless: hope, healing and another chance at life. Your single donation can help save multiple lives and make a lasting difference in our community. This summer, be someone's reason to keep fighting. Roll up your sleeve, donate blood and help ensure that no patient has to wait for the lifesaving blood they need. Give blood. Give hope. Save lives. #bloodbankofhawaii #moanaluamiddleschool #savelives #commUNITY #volunteer
