They say the brain meets art, love, and prayer
in many of the same rooms.
Perhaps that is why a beautiful painting, a verse of scripture,
or the face of someone we love can leave the same light behind the eyes.
As though the mind,
in its quiet prayer bead way, moves from one window to the next
and cannot tell the difference.
Perhaps beauty is only the trace of something we loved before time met matter.
And perhaps the lover has always been an artist, standing before the canvas, devoted to its colours, its impossible detail,
until he realises he was never in love with the painting,

My worlds—Rock Band, Boompop, and Music & Wellness—collide every Monday at Resonate in Baltimore.

They run one of the coolest summer-long creative arts camps for kids—musicians, artists, performers, and young creatives of all kinds. I’m lucky enough to be one of the music teachers.

Every week has a different theme, and every week I learn something new, too.

One week we explored the history of the guitar. During Stranger Things week, we wrote spooky music. During Pokémon week, they taught me a few things!

That’s one of my favorite things about Resonate: everybody is exploring—music, art, singing, dancing… creativity of all kinds.

With me, they dance. They sing. They learn new instruments. They explore new styles. They make music. They try things they’ve never done before.

They do new things.
I do new things.
We all do new things.

And it’s FUN!

Come with me to my first co-working session! 😜

One thing I’ve learned on this entrepreneurship journey is that it’s important to intentionally put yourself in rooms with other like-minded people. As much as I love my home office, sometimes a change of environment is exactly what you need to spark creativity, productivity, and fresh ideas.

It’s nothing like getting up and working for yourself!🙌🏾

The freedom, the flexibility, the purpose, and the opportunity to build something that truly aligns with your vision is a feeling that’s hard to put into words.

I threw on my GHU jacket, walked in, and immediately felt welcomed. The energy was soooo amazing, and I even ran into a childhood friend who is also pursuing entrepreneurship full-time.

I made new connections, had great conversations, and got SO much done.

Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean doing it alone. There’s value in community, collaboration, and simply sharing space with other visionaries!
