Don’t confuse fitness with bodybuilding, which don’t really portray what it means, people look at us and immediately associate us with some robot, like we have an impenetrable outer shell, like we live on broccoli, chicken and brown rice, like we don’t love food.

We’re just like everyone at the end of the day, we all love very different lives, it’s not “easy” for us, we just prioritise some choices over others, but it seems like we’re “disciplined” or easy for us because we’ve put in the reps, day in day out, not being perfect but being consistent at it.

We’re all humans, but we don’t have the same 24hrs, some have it way harder than others, but that’s also where you find a structure that works for you while working things around, making sure it revolves around your life, your loved ones and your commitments.

And maybe, you’re in a position where might not be ready for that conversation yet to be make things work and a compromise, that’s okay, hopefully it makes its way to you soon or that you find it for yourself.

Get after it 👊.

There’s a coach available at every corner .

It can get confusing for people when it comes to investing in the right one since there are plenty of options out there.

Different price ranges, personas, methods , teams, companies , you name it.

In the previous post, i mentioned that coaching can either be one of the best Investments or it can be a liability in our lives .

What’s the cost if something goes south?

You lose money and time , not get to your goal , best case scenario .

You get hurt, your physical & mental health gets ruined AND you may still not get to your goal, spend 10-20x more time & money getting surgeries or trying to recover your health , worst case scenario.

Needless to say, leaving a terrible impression of coaching .

None of us want that. We are here to make good decisions .

Here’s my top 6 considerations when it comes to choosing someone to work with 🤝➡️

What the coach has done for his own journey doesn’t matter as much. It’s for him/her.

A 15x Champion dosent necessarily mean they can coach someone else.

It’s extremely common for coaches to just use their own achievements and transformations to market themselves as someone credible & an authority.

Always look at REAL testimonials of others .

Current and past clients, know their experience with the coach. Both good and bad . Both consistent and inconsistent feedback should give you an idea.

Look at the people who came from “nothing” , the beginners , the injured etc that became something.

Not just the ones that are already good , self sustainable and just needed some polishing up.

It’s a very different coaching skillset trying to get a newbie / injured athlete getting to lift 50kg from 25kg than someone who is already conditioned lifting 85kg.

Make sure the testimonials , results are something that YOU want for yourself.

An impressive resume is great , But it has to impress & apply to the right crowd.

50+ successful fat loss transformations is impressive for sure, and it can definitely help guide decision making.

However, are those transformations something YOU WANT? Or do you need guidance on better food choices, improving overall mobility , getting pain

Life so far, August dump

“To hear the Dao in the morning and die in the evening-this would be enough” - Confucius

If I can gain enlightenment in the morning, I can die in content in the evening, never forget that feeling, your efforts, will surely bring you a morning that is worthy of your sweat, with a cup of coffee.

Because what is life without a good cup of coffee paired with good conversations, genuine, no one trying to one up one another.

Truly blessed.

Good conversations.

Always learning, asking questions, always wanting to be better, always discussing ways to better deliver for clients. In a world where everyone seems to be against one another, may we be surrounded by people who genuinely wishes for others growth, success and may we see others success as our own success. We grow together.

But honestly deep down,

Just a few people always high on caffeine and Chinese food. Good coffee and good food always slaps.

“It’s was never just me, it has always been we.”

Another one in the books. A reminder that no matter where you are in the world, you are never walking alone in this journey of life, no matter how different, under the sky, we fall under oneness.

Heartfelt, warm welcome, incredible hosts, incredible environment, and most importantly, the people that made it so, as it has always been about the people.

Invitation received, itinerary received, no questions asked, a unique experience, the bond, the conversations, the place, each holds its very own special element that can never be replaced. Energy 💯

And of course, the coffee as well as the coconut water.

A little overdue, but revisiting this brought back a lot.

The weeks of prep, the nerves backstage, stepping on stage, and everything that happened in between.

Looking back, I realised the competition was only one part of the experience. The real takeaway was everything it took to get there — the discipline, sacrifices, setbacks, and moments that tested me along the way.

I finally put together a full vlog documenting the whole competition experience, from the final stretch of prep to show day and everything behind the scenes.

The full competition recap is now live on YouTube, link in bio. 🎥

It’s good to have and set a baseline.

At some point, the spreadsheet no longer dictates the person but the person dictates the spreadsheet, both work hand in hand to drive decision making and problem solving.

Stop comparing leg extensions with squats, it’s not this over that, neither is superior.

KL has been good, it’s never about the place, it’s all about the people.

Caught up with good humans, some were unplanned, some were unexpected, some were unfamiliar yet felt like old friends, crazy crossovers happening, from all walks of life, different yet similar, and surrounded by the warmth of similar energies being brought together.

Well taken care of 🙏
