POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s CHURCH ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY and I LOVEEE @gatheringplacedc REAL BAD. 🥹💗

TGP is truly a place where EVERYONE can experience the glory of God. And one thing I appreciate so much? Nobody is trying to tell me what to do. Not my pastors, elders, ministers, or anybody else. 😂

Y’all know I’m a SLOW PROCESSOR AND SUSPICIOUS. Baby, I need time to observe, ask questions, and let things marinate. 😂 And this church has given me the space and grace to do just that.

Y’all don’t understand how freeing that has been for someone who’s always felt different and has had so many things forced on her. And I don’t say that from a place of hurt. I say it because my heart has always needed to be handled with tenderness. There’s something powerful about being loved without feeling like you have to surrender your own ability to think, process, and hear from God.

I can hear the Word, let it marinate, and sit with Jesus without feeling pressured to adopt somebody else’s thoughts or timeline. My pastors and elders have given me room to grow in my relationship with God, trusting Him to work on my heart in His own way.

Because the closer you get to Jesus, the more you want Him. The more you want to know Him. The more you want to be like Him. 🥹

My church has been a safe space where I’ve made mistakes, experienced deliverance, been corrected in love, and literally fallen (y’all know vertigo be TAKING ME OUT 😭). Through all of it, I’ve experienced a kind of love that makes room for me to be human while still growing in Christ.

Happy Anniversary, TGP! 💗

I love you, @jjhairston & @trinahairston . Thank you for praying for me, extending grace, and loving me in the way I needed to be loved. Y’all have no idea what that has meant to me.

Now that y’all have heard my testimony, LET ME INVITE Y’ALL TO CHURCH! 😂🙌🏿

📍 4703 Marlboro Pike
⏰ Service starts at 12 PM

But baby, GET THERE EARLY! We had OVERFLOW SEATING TODAY. 😂

Don’t just watch the testimony online. Come experience the glory for yourself.

Get in the house. There’s a seat for you. 💗

Birthday tradition: ✅

Late post! For the second year in a row (and the fourth time overall), I got to spend part of my birthday serving at Ronald McDonald House Charities—cooking meals and sharing a little joy with families who have enough on their plates already. ❤️🏡

One thing about me… I’m always going to choose experiences over extravagance. Maybe with just a lil extravagance 👌🏾. Grateful for another year of life and another opportunity to serve.

Until next year! 🎉👨🏾‍🍳 #DayOfService #RMHC #CommunityService

Cleaning out my drafts. This trend was so much fun.
It never went left because @gatheringplacedc is too oily for that.

It just went from churchy… to churchier. 😂🙌🏾

This weekend has been a mental overload. I can't even begin to tell y’all everything. Still processing.

Just know I kept my promise to God. When it got hard, I didn't throw in the towel. I leaned into all available supports. There is still a long road of healing and grief ahead.

Pray that I continue to say YES.
Even in the hard times.
Even in the frustration.
Even when it doesn't make sense.

YES

Side note. How cute is this bear purse from @aldo_shoes so whimsy. I love being a cutie patootie.

…AND THE LEGACY CONTINUES!!! ❤️🐾💙

Full circle moment… our baby girl is heading to the very same university where @revkev223 and I met, started our love story,
had her, and where she walked the campus as if she was a college student instead of a toddler! Lol!

And this weekend? She showed OUT during try-outs, and earned her spot on the cheer team! My baby is officially a BULLDOG CHEERLEADER!! @scstate_cheer

Bulldog Students, to Bulldog Alumni, to Bulldog Parents! Congratulations Kirsten!!!! We are sooo proud!
