695 x 5 Trap bar Deadlift

Nice day of lower body work today! Love the switch up from Deadlifts and Squats to Trap Bar. Really helps build leg drive and power out of the bottom! Last time I hit this I was sitting at 355+, down in the 330s and still moving heavy weight!

I realized I haven’t posted anything on Instagram since 2024. A lots happened since then - probably the best but hardest 2 years of my life thus far.

Lost loved ones, started a new job, Georgias growing up - she’ll be 6 in a few months, hospital visits, started a business - closed that business, me and Bridgett went back to school at WGU for business and education - Bridgett got her first teaching role this year, welcomed our 3lbs baby Olivia into the world - she’s 15lbs now, watching Georgia grow into an amazing big sister and Bridgett a mother of two - I’m still figuring out how to be a better dad in a house full of girls, bought a gym - running a successful business and growing daily, sold my truck, competed in a Highland Games show, spent lots of time with friends

Stressful couple of years there. Lots of growth and learning happened.

Beyond thankful.

🚨 PR 🚨

227 Pound Circus Dumbbell

Didn’t go into today expecting to hit a PR- but when the weights are moving good, always fun to push some limits! Love seeing strength continue to grow even as bodyweight is down 30+ pounds!

STRONGMAN SATURDAY

3 x 1 at 365 Flintstone Press

225 x 21 Overhead Press

Little bit of heavy explosive work behind the neck, then hammering that overhead volume work!
Back where it all started with the @revolution.strength crew. Crazy how it went from just a group of guys (and gals @pittman_bd ) lifting heavy things to a full blown gym. Proud of my brother @daltonog for what he’s built out in Clarkrange and what he’s got planned for the future! Love having these guys in my circle and being able to train with them.
Also got to break out my new Red White and Blue @evolutionathleticsgear Belt and Straps today!

405 x 5 x 5 Bench Press

Does 4 am count as the 21st night of September? It’s still night right?
Nice 5x5 workout to re-set at the beginning of a new cycle! Pouring into doing the little things right and getting stronger as an athlete this cycle. Super happy wiyh how the Pause set moved- used to be something that would end my workout, now I can do sets after that. Sitting between 335 and 340 consistently weight wise and super happy to still be doing strong things. Being big for the sake of big don’t matter if you can’t move well at all and back in the spring I was knocking on that door.Re-focused on diet, cardio, and grinding day in day out and seeing the results of that pay off!

Overhead Press Work today!
385 x 1

225 x 17

Great Day of overhead work, closed the doors and turned the fans off to really break a sweat today. Wanted to really push through some difficult conditions and figured nothing beats 100 degree heat.
Repping the OG @revolution.strength shirt, First time doing barbell overhead work in almost a year and glad to see my strength is still at this level. Hoping to push for 400+ again soon!

🚨 PR ALERT🚨

350 Pound Clean and Press

Been dipping my toe into Olympic movements alongside my strongman training as I believe if your gonna be strong in one way, why not be strong in all ways. No point in having a massive Log or Axle PR if you can’t grab a barbell and do similar. Came a long way in the past 6 months, going from continental cleans to working technique and getting more flexible on the catch after losing 25 pounds. Technique still has a LONG way to go but super happy here. Would also be a power clean PR as I topped out at 345 on that in college (which was the last time I worked olympic lifting intensively).
In the words of my HS OC “don’t watch Richardson if you want to learn good form 😂”

Circus Dumbbell Saturday
(cause that’s pretty much what it is at this point)
Bi-weekly 207 pound circus dumbbell completed, wanted to show what it looks like as I progress up towards the heavy sets and how much intention and explosion I move the light weights with. It’s fun to show off the heavy stuff, but a lot of times the lead up to that gets lost in the shuffle.

Great session today even being sore from yesterdays deadlifts and a football scrimmage, glad to be able to get up and do what I do week in week out! (Rocking the @mckimdaniel Throws shirt- NEED A NEW ONE TO BE DROPPED! Plz?)
