The plans fell apart, but apparently it was a blessing in disguise! We were supposed to be on a Read & Ride Train today in Indiana with our mom, aunt, & other sister. Sadly the tracks were damaged and the ride was cancelled (they’re reopening soon). Then life threw us all for a loop & only Brittany & I would have been able to go anyway. Since we still had the day set aside we made the most of it! Brunch at @coppinsrestaurant, a surprise vintage street fair, the Covington Farmer’s Market, & stops at @poorcharlottes & @conveyor_belt_books. The temps went from 60s to 80 so we grabbed some gelato & called it an incredible afternoon! *Outfit details: tank is an athletic one I bought new a few years ago, pants are @loft from @thredup, purse is from ThredUp, & my @adidas shoes were at @platosclosetandersonoh for $30 brand new! I had literally looked at the same pair on the Adidas site the day before!

Every piece of this was deemed garbage but now it’s useful yet again! If you wanna know how I make shirt yarn, the full tutorial is up on YouTube. I made a rug before! If you want a tutorial on this bag, sorry but it was a product of my imagination 😅 I just messed around until it made something! But it was all single crochet 🤷‍♀️ I’m sure you could follow any bag pattern 😋 What have you upcycled recently?? #upcycling #ecohobbies #crochet #fiberartist #textilerecycling

Ways I’m boycotting capitalism 😤 Inspired by the lovely @sk.callie This month I mended, made homemade food, got creative with food waste, and did a whole lot of upcycling things destined for the landfill I love saving money and saving the planet at the same time as sticking it to the man 🤭 Small ways to push back against this wasteful system add up! How do you push back against capitalism? #anticapitalist #diy #homemade #zerowaste #eco

Rehydrating my sourdough starter…success or fail? Success!! Here’s what I did: - I dehydrated my starter, just air dried (scroll back to find the video on that) - added about 2 tbsp of dry starter to a jar with about 1/3 cup of warm water and let it sit for several hours - mixed it nice and good with a few tablespoons of AP flour until it was “normal” starter consistency - fed it normally every day After about 5 days, it was doubling in size and at the one week point, I was able to bake! Now I always have spare starter on hand 👏🏼 How do you preserve food? #foodpreservation #foodwaste #sourdoughstarter #sourdoughbread #sustainability

But is shopping vintage shopping local? “Shop local” doesn’t always have to mean buying something made down the street. It can mean spending your money with a small local seller, supporting a local market, giving something a second life, and finding something you won’t see everywhere else. And at many of these markets, you’ll also find local makers, artists, food vendors and small businesses alongside the vintage sellers. How many did you see in this video alone? #CincySourced #ShopLocal #CincinnatiLocal #VintageShopping #NKY
