💻 Keep Learning. Keep Coding. Keep Growing. 🖥️

One of the highlights of my week was attending an inspiring Rewriting the Code (RTC) event featuring technology professionals Reena Mary Puthota & Kirsten Coronado. A special thank-you to Blessing, our online host, for creating such a welcoming and engaging experience.

These incredible women reminded us of something every student and tech professional should remember:

Technology never stands still. Neither should we.

A key takeaway was the importance of learning to code. While artificial intelligence is a powerful tool, strong programming fundamentals remain essential. Understanding how to read, write, debug, and reason through code builds confidence and helps students use AI as a support tool—not a replacement for thinking and learning.

Many technology careers still require at least one solid programming language. Whether in software engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, AI, cloud computing, robotics, automation, web development, or other STEM fields, coding plays a vital role in building, improving, & maintaining systems.
We also discussed how careers are not always linear. Technology professionals come from many backgrounds, & unexpected changes—including layoffs or industry shifts—can happen. While we cannot predict everything, we can prepare by continuing to grow our skills & staying adaptable.

At Academic Essentials, we believe learning is one of the greatest investments a student can make.
That is why we support a clear coding pathway suggestion (see attached picture):
Learn computational thinking.
Understand core programming concepts.
Practice through interactive learning.
Build real projects.
Strengthen software reasoning and architecture.
Learn how AI tools support development workflows.
Grow into advanced technology roles across STEM fields.

On May 11th, I’ll be graduating from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. 💙💛

These past 4 years have truly been the definition of God’s grace. Through every challenge, every late night, every tear, every victory, and every moment where I wanted to give up… God remained faithful.

I’m beyond grateful for my family — thank you for being my biggest inspiration, support system, and covering me with love through some really difficult seasons. I would not be here without you.

This degree is more than an accomplishment to me; it’s a testimony. ☁️✨
