Voices of Practice is a virtual, monthly series that gives prospective students at all stages of the application process an opportunity to connect with our community.

Sessions include a general RFU and resources overview and an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about your programs, experiences, and our RFU community through a Q&A.

This series serves as an opportunity to share your voice (panelists) with prospective students, as they gather information to make an informed decision about RFU and navigate the graduate school process.

With more than 200,000 Physician Assistants driving more than 620 million patient interactions every year, it’s no surprise that the PA path is widely recognized as one of the top healthcare careers in the country, and one of the fastest-growing fields in medicine. Each of those interactions represents a patient heard, a diagnosis made, and a care plan set in motion.

Here at Rosalind Franklin University, we’ve been part of that story for more than three decades. Since our PA program was founded in 1991, more than 1,500 RFU graduates have stepped into the workforce as leaders in their field.

We're proud to see our program recognized among the top in the nation, and above all, grateful for the incredible impact our alumni and PA students are making in the profession.

Congratulations to Margaret "Maggie" Lukas, a first-year Physician Assistant, who was recently awarded the PAEA Future Educator Fellowship!

Selected through a national application process, Maggie will participate in a year-long
program hosted by the PAEA, gaining hands-on training in teaching methodologies, scholarship development, and educational leadership. She will also attend the PAEA Forum in Austin, Texas, in October as part of the fellowship program.

I’ve spent the better part of my post grad life dedicating myself to the reproductive space.

I was trained as a full spectrum doula🤰🏽, worked at @ppgraction after the fall of Roe V. Wade🥺, and I spent time helping people create their families at @stlfertility 👶🏼. Each opportunity allowed me to work under some of the greats in their field. They taught me the power of advocacy, education, and compassion!💕

When I created @honestly_repro I wanted to share more about reproductive healthcare. Creating a fair with 70 tables of education and freebies filled my heart with joy. I never imagined this small event would gain so much recognition. Thank you to @apaogorg for selecting me as Student of the Year and an amazing conference! 🫶🏽

The Association of PAs in OBGYN (APAOG) was this past week in Detroit, Michigan. There were several presentations by RFU Physician Assistant Alums:

✔ "Don't Be Afraid of Insulin! The Foundations on Management of Diabetes in Pregnancy" by Rachel Galanos, MS, PA-C (PA 2021 - now at UChicago Maternal-Fetal Medicine),

✔ "Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility: A Day in the Life" by Jasmine Hammerstad, MS, PA-C (PA 2022 - now at Montefiore Institute of Reproductive Health), and

✔ "The Diagnosis and Management of Hyperlactation" by Kristine Jennings Burgess, MS, PA-C, CLC (PA 2010 & current Assistant Professor in the Physician Assistant Department).

Additionally, current second-year PA student Cayla Adams received the prestigious APAOG Student of the Year Award in recognition of her dedication to women's health and the Honestly Repro Fair.

Alumni Meetup! Current Students, friends & family are welcome! You're invited to a fun and casual meetup at the Millennium Park Summer Film Series! Join us on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, for a special outdoor screening of Hamilton.

The film starts at 6:30 PM at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. We'll be gathering in the lawn area, so keep an eye out for our Rosalind Franklin University sign. This is a wonderful chance to catch up with old friends, make new connections, and enjoy a summer evening in the city.

Pack a blanket or chair, and we look forward to seeing you there! RFU will provide a variety of snacks and a small gift for alumni.
