💚 NICE THINGS THAT HAPPENED AT GIGS THIS WEEK: Vol 104
TRIBFEST: NIGHT 2 (Saturday)

● VENUE: Laughing Bull Comedy, Tribfest, Driffield
● HOMEBOUND HOURS DRIVEN: 7.5 hrs
● PEE BREAKS: 3
● ROADTRIP SOUNDTRACK: The Killers, Oasis, U2, Queen, Gaurdians of the Galaxy Soundtrack(*Not sorry, its awesome)

After a brilliant day of alternating comedy going & Band watching, then at midnight I opened(*🤣by opened, I mean went on first, there was no hierarchy on this show) the Saturday night late show to a choca block room of tired but happy festival goers🌜

The Late Show was a totally different vibe and style. This was a no holds barred show. Loads of acts that have/would be performing over weekend totally free rein to play around and have fun with our sets 🥳

It was such fun to go off plan & really have fun with our sets. I had the wonderful @laurenba1ley as a my glamorous assistant for my comedy set bridge game, which we semi successfully-ish turned into some kind of audience participation game show, with me making good use of a super long mic cord, jumping off the stage(*hoping off the stage in a safe controlled manner) & running around an assuminng audience for their guesses while the rest of the audience did a fantastic impression of a drum roll.

It was hilarious that after my set, audience were still intermittently shouting "%£#@" (which is another part of my set), So much fun.

I loved watching the the acts that were newer and the acts well seasoned take to the stage and just have fun with their material.

I love, LOVE really well done SILLINESS.
When i say say 'Silly" i mean it as a complete compliment to the art. I think you have a to dig really deep to find the funny out of something flat and shape into some bubbling with hilarity.
I laughed, and laughed hard, at AJ Hills set. I wont share someone elses set, but I can tell you I laughed so much I was horse....and I'm a vegetarian.

Another clever act was @rich.austin.comedy, a set to calm, clever and controlled but leaning towards the silly.. so well crafted.
Dawn Bailey proved to me again that she can own any room. Just fun and wild, I could listen to her tales all day long.

Huge thanks to our fantastic last line-up of comedians, who all took to "the steps" and headlined our August Comedy Club! 🎤😂

We’ve just announced our next date - Monday 14th September, and we’re already getting excited!

Dave Twentyman headlines CCC on Thursday 13th August. One of the most naturally funny comics on the UK circuit — warm, quick, and impossible not to like. He’s supported Jason Manford and John Bishop on tour, played the main stages at Leeds and V Festival, and turned up on Made in the Northwest. Proper headliner, tiny room. Our favourite combination.

Opening up: @anthyoung83 who the BBC called “delightfully blunt and immensely endearing”, plus a couple more acts including local legend hull_fool and your hosts @jedandbreakfast and @rich.austin.comedy

🍕 Pizzas from @doughpunks
🚪 Doors 6:30, show at 8
🎟 £15 / £12 members and NHS/NUS

We sell these out most months, so don’t sit on it. Tickets via the link in our bio 👆

At Thursday’s Cottingham Comedy Club, Jed Salisbury asked Rich Austin what he’d campaign on if he stood for election. Rich has been on the Cottingham Community Facebook group. He knows what the people really want.
Our next surgery for constituents: Thursday 11th June The Back Room, Cottingham. Come and make your voice heard (ticket link in the comments).

Now then now then. What an outstanding night at CCC with every act delivering a brilliant performance. We had @ryan.kenny.comedian opening proceedings (following a party election broadcast by candidates Jed and Rich). The middle section of Stephen Carling and Dominique was 🧑‍🍳💋 and headline act Christian Reilly knocked it out of Grandad’s Park.
