We are pleased to announce our showcase at DIGITALISM:NEXT as part of British Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery.

@saatchi_gallery @britishartfair

As alumni of the Royal College of Art @royalcollegeofart, we expand our relationship to DIGITALISM through Parathetics: the organisation of heterogeneous modes of perception, representation and operation through adjacency. Image, data, algorithm, machine process and material object coexist without reduction to a common language. Clinical definition and conceptual rendering operate as coequal, parallel tracks—challenging, disrupting and informing one another, with neither acting as an absolute foundation.

Our collective works will be on show 24-27 September 2026

AVAILABLE for pre-order!

Trips, by Whisker (Ben Baker Billington/Andrew Scott Young) featuring Lia Kohl, Chris Corsano, and Norman Long.
@quicksails @andrewscottyoung @chriscorsano @liairenekohl @normanwlong

Releases on 7/18/25 on Amalgam. Record release at @constellationchicago on 7/30/2025!

Artwork by @rickdrako

Ben Baker Billington and Andrew Scott Young are WHISKER. Their latest record TRIPS celebrates the duo’s long-standing musical collaboration and unique sound, this time joined by fellow Chicago luminaries Lia Kohl, Norman W. Long, and recent-NYC-transplant Chris Corsano, throwing an entirely new mix in to the duo’s sonic landscape.

Started in 2019, WHISKER consists of Ben Baker Billington on electronics and modular, and Andrew Scott Young on double bass. Their musical collaboration goes back over fifteen years as two pillars in the legendary underground Chicago free jazz band TIGER HATCHERY. BBB and ASY have since honed their duo collaboration over the years, and shortly after pandemic, began inviting other folks to join the madness at live sets.

TRIPS is a document that accurately captures the unpredictability that spawns from throwing outside-but-adjacent forces in to Whisker’s already-established sound; a conglomeration amongst improvising artists who are true friends, colleagues, and collaborators who all greatly respect and understand each other’s work. The result is a wild fever dream of density and sensitivity, an important document and snapshot of a younger generation of Chicago improvised music that continues to push the boundaries.

Harmonic Sphere.

Not made to impress, but to hold.
To resist excess, to balance extremes.
A form born in the space where chaos settles and clarity begins.

Let the form speak.
What does it say to you?

Sunday at 8pm we're excited to host outdoor projections on the train embankment beside 1224 W Loyola Ave with videos by Matt Bodett and Ricardo Mondragon, Maddie Brucker, and Shir Ende

This will be the final time to visit 𝙂𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚* for this year – the project will return in a different formation for the conclusion of our storefront space in August-September 2025.

This summer we've been privileged to share work by Matt Bodett, Sonya Bogdanova, Shir Ende, laaura goldstein with Maddie Brucker, José Santiago Pérez, Aram Han Sifuentes, Gina Hunt, Michael James, Betsy Odom, AJ (Quing of Arts Photography), Chris Reeves, Marina Ross, Rafael Vera, Edgewater Environmental Coalition, and others. Come experience it Sunday night!

This is a project in two parts. Let’s celebrate this place – and imagine what our future could be. . . .

This project and tenants of 1234 W Loyola Ave have received vital support from the Crossroads Fund's Critical Response Fund grant. @crossroadsfund

🚨 @patrickgallaghernyc and I are thrilled to announce “Angular Momentum” , an exhibition at @fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory, the show will run from June 3 - Sept 3, 2024. We will be showing work created during our 2020 residency at Fermi, renowned for pioneering research in particle physics and accelerator tech. Our series #DATAATADATA : Angular Momentum, inspired by the Muon g-2 experiment, visually explores complex quantum dynamics. This show is especially meaningful as our residency in 2020, disrupted by COVID restrictions, had to be taken online. It’s an honor to finally have our work back at Fermi Lab for an official show. Join us at Wilson Hall to experience this fusion of art and science.

We are Honored to be sharing the show with @rickdrako 💥
