Meraki 2026 ⌛️

My first season ever in indoor percussion, my first season ever in an independent ensemble, my first time in the Dayton Arena, my first season not having a chunk of metal over my face, so many firsts this indoor season.

I came into this season knowing absolutely nothing about everything, everyday of the season was a struggle not to fall behind and keep up while in a line full of so many talented people from so many different sides of the arts. To say I learned a lot this season is definitely an understatement, my whole world was flipped on my head with what was asked of me every weekend, all things i've never done before and the growth in my vocabulary just in one season is insane.

To the VE, never have I been part of a section where I could say I loved and cared about everyone until this season, you are all amazing people who will do amazing things and I hope to march with some of you again one day :)

To the staff, thank you for taking a chance on me, realistically taking me as the only person on the line with no indoor experience of some kind was always gonna be a gamble so i appreciate you all believing in me. you all have been the most influential and impactful staff i've ever been under and will use methods and philosophy's given to me by you all for the rest of marching and teaching career :)

Love this show, love these people, love the staff, love the process. I’m having such a great time this season, especially now that the whole group is becoming closer. I’m really looking forward to learning the rest of the show and bringing it out to shows coming up in like 5 1/2 weeks! Eid Mubaraki is going to be such a party, i can’t wait to grind more with the homies. This past month has been a very busy one in my personal and professional life, and I’m learning how to optimize my practice time and focus on productivity and efficiency rather than spending hours straight ADHD practicing and hopping between exercises and skillsets. My practice time feels much more like a meditation and a moment to clear my mind of the bullshit and just focus on improving my skills. 4 more months left 💜
