@pilchuckglassschool truly set the perfect tone for our residency. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to be creative and work alongside such a kind group of artists. I’m convinced Frit the Cat pretty much runs the entire place!

Processing the gift of time so generously provided by @lawsartistresidency and @pilchuckglassschool. ❤️

These two weeks went by in a flash, and I’m still basking in the excitement of discovering this new-to-me material and all the possibilities glass holds. Its transparency, fragility, and willingness to melt and transform into forms of our making have opened up so many new possibilities for my work moving forward.

So grateful for the community, for learning from one another, and for all the new skills explored together — from glass casting and stained glass to printmaking.

Forever grateful for this gathering and the little family we created. From long days and late nights in the studios to family dinners, mushroom hunting, and encouraging one another to make just one more mold, one more enamel painting 😅, or one more print — but the time and space to get lost in our creativity these are the moments I’ll carry with me.

Love you all so much. There was so much learning, generosity, and healing through our work and the time we shared. ❤️

And to @ofotherspaces, thank you for guiding us all into this new journey with glass. ✨

Artist Rick Gradone has been a part of L.A.W.S. since inception, working on our curatorial team and participating as an artist in multiple mediums, including textiles and form.

Working in the area of Planetarity, Rick explores the unknowable aspects of the earth that gives it god-like qualities. Using rocks as an icon, at Pilchuck he used glass to imagine the insides of the rocks we cannot see, encased little worlds. A fully realized landscape in each. #planetarity #printmakingart #glassartwork #textileart #artistresidency

I DON’T WANNA WAKE UP! It’s an absolute dream to be a part of the “Cannes of Horror” @nightmaresfilmfest !!!

We show at 10pm on Thursday, October 15 as part of their Horror Comedy Shorts A block.

It’s killing me that we won’t be there in person, but if you are in the area, GET YOUR TICKETS! It’s gonna be a scream!

We wrapped today. Always a moment of sweet exhaustion until the next phases come- the crash, the integration, and seeing how some of the magic weaves back home not only into new work but as fire survivors how it shifts stagnation, perspectives. Action & healing. Here are some of the glass pieces created at Pilchuck. More to come 💫 #glassartist #stainedglassartist #losangeleswildfiresurvivors glasscasting #sculpture_art

These wonderful women foraged for chantarelle mushrooms & made a risotto for lunch that 🤘 on a beautiful, lush rainy day. Later, sunset over fog (plus a tiny frog spotted in the wild 🐸)
