A work in progress here. Never really shared one while I was writing it, but thought I’d throw something out there! #ShoeBiters #NewMusic

The SiriusXM headquarters in New York City absolutely blew me away! 🤯 I hadn’t even taken three steps through the door and A-Rod was interviewing Sebastian Maniscalco in a glass-walled studio right next to the front desk. Rob Lowe was there too that day and for Growl to be allowed to roam the halls as well, was pretty darn cool!! Ha. The facility itself looked like something even Tony Stark would be impressed with. But the only thing cooler than the building was meeting the wonderful people at Kids Place Live! A huge thank you to Kristina! And also everyone at SiriusXM and Kids Place Live for making us feel so welcome. One last important thank you to @ameliaisthebrand at @gethappymedia because it was her warm introduction to SiriusXM that paved the road here!! This was SO much fun! 🎸🤘🔥 #ShoeBiters #KidsPlaceLive #SiriusXM #KidsRock #unpluggedmusic

This is the ending of a song called “My Little Boy’s Pride”. After I became a dad, I started looking back at the kind of parent my own father was. And I know someday my boys will do the same with me. I guess this song is about my fear of that moment, and my hope that when they look back, they’ll be proud of how I raised them. It’s the last song on our POWER WORDS Vol. 1 album that came out at the end of August. In the first three verses, I imagine my boys growing up and becoming fathers themselves. It’s a special song to me. It starts and ends with audio of our firstborn crying right after he was born, taken from the very first video we have of him.

Booster Seat Rock at the Whisky. 🤘 I feel incredibly lucky to have friends and musicians of this caliber who are down to dress up with me as the Shoe Biters animated characters! I couldn’t ask for a better crew to rock out with and I’m sending tons of gratitude out to Greg, Jennifer, Zak and Drin!!! We’ve got more shows in the works, including possibly the Troubadour and some Santa Barbara dates! Let’s Rocket Up! 🚀

Wins AND losses are part of the game, and Megan and I didn’t want to shy away from that. I know this is a radio countdown, not a soccer game, so dropping a few spots isn’t exactly a “loss.” But we felt like it was a good opportunity to teach the boys something about handling both the ups and “downs”. Our boys can get pretty bummed out when they lose, which makes total sense to me because I was the same way growing up (and even now to an extent)! I already knew we’d dropped in the countdown both weeks, but I still wanted to get in the car and listen to the replay together, and let the boys see how I reacted when we WEREN’T at the top! #ShoeBiters #KidsPlaceLive #parentingmoments #raisingkids kidsmusic

Everyone else runs out. SHE runs in. This song is about my sister-in-law Natalie. A real-life firefighter. A real-life hero. ❤️

Every phase ends. It used to drive Megan and me crazy cuz every time we drove DOWN the driveway, it was, “Let’s check the mail! MAIL!!” Every time we drove UP the driveway, they wanted to check it again. Even if we’d already checked it that day!! I hadn’t stopped to grab the mail without the kids in the car for years. Until today. Wow. It’s funny how the little things that used to annoy us (because we were ALWAYS late somewhere 😂) become the things we’ll miss. I never thought I’d get emotional about checking the mail. 📬❤️ Anybody else realize their kids had outgrown something without even noticing it was happening? #Parenting #ParentingMoments #KidsGrowingUp #NostalgicParenting #ShoeBiters

Coach Jeff & me 🎙️ at SiriusXM Studios, Megan + the boys 🚙 listening 📻 back home ❤️ I sat back in awe watching Coach Jeff. What a pleasure to see a total pro working his craft right in front of me. His flow, charisma and the words we hear on air are only a fraction of what he’s actually doing. Jeff is a ONE-MAN WRECKING CREW 🚜💥 Running the board, organizing segments, managing the music log, editing and mixing on the fly, opening and closing mics, monitoring the broadcast, troubleshooting, keeping track of a million technical details—and dealing with us 😂—all while making the part we hear sound completely effortless. 🤯🎙️📻 There’s an art to making something this complicated look simple. I learned so much just sitting there and watching him work, and it was a real honor to be invited in. Thank you, Jeff. Thank you, Christina. Thank you, @kidsplacelive !!! ❤️🤘 #radiodj #radioproducer #siriusxm #voiceover #shoebiters
