Beautiful City from the musical Godspell by @wickedschwartz
From Paul:
“My final post of this year’s #12daysofukumas is a bit of a time investment. Make sure you’re ready to go on the almost 4-minute journey with me. I promise it’ll be worth your time. There’s also no ukulele! Just me and the piano. Headphones highly recommended.

I wanted to do something visually stunning for this one, so I called on my good friend @rickontheuke who always creates such stunning videos. And boy, did he deliver on this one! Thank you, Rick. It was a pleasure collaborating with you!
I am a HUGE Stephen Schwartz fan (been obsessed with Wicked since it premiered on Broadway). Nothing from Wicked felt right for my Christmas Day post, so I went back a few decades and found “Beautiful City” from Godspell. The message of hope is timeless and certainly resonates these days. I hope you enjoy my final post for the 12 Days of Ukumas. I’ll probably take a short break but will return soon with lots of new music - both covers and originals.”

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Paul & Rick!

Well…yesterday was special. I (Paul) got to meet 2 of my IG friends for the first time. Up until now, I had only met two others - Although I have met a few who live here in NYC. First, a long morning walk to meet up with the fabulous @rickontheuke . We had breakfast, wandered around @bryantparknyc , and shared our personal stories with each other. The time flew by and sadly, Rick must now fly home to Austin. I’m already looking forward to the next meeting either here again or in Austin!
I then meandered down to Chelsea to meet @happy_little_strings aka Sam and her beautiful teens. I’m not sure a lovlier group of 3 exists! We grabbed coffee at @chelseamarketny , hiked around @littleislandnyc , and then walked the length of the @highlinenyc talking about a wide variety of things from life to love to loss - which there seems to be a lot of these days 😢 - and of course UKULELE! One thing we ALL agreed on: our little IG ukulele community is wonderfully kind and supportive, and we all need to find ways to meet in person now that traveling is much easier post pandemic.
What I found to be true upon meeting everyone is something I suspected…it felt like family 💙💙💙
Special shout-out to my eldest daughter @chloehennessee for the music - I used her award-winning song “Awake.”

Here is a short video of a project week recently completed in Crystal Falls. It was a wonderful experience collaborating with @pivotgardendesign @luminaryatx @rickontheuke on this project, from brainstorming to completion. Thank you for the trust you placed in us @rickontheuke and hope that it matches the vision you had from the start. @vogel_builders @trexcompany #outdoorliving

Magical moment like these make you appreciate the wonders of nature even more.
There is something truly enchanting about observing an elephant up close, feeling the ground tremble beneath their majestic presence and seeing their gentle demeanor.

Our ukulele Safari is brimming with enchanting experiences like these….

View from the newly built photographic hide @lionsblufflodge where we will spend 3 full days 😉
