26.2 miles. 4:20:52

Still trying to take it all in.

At the beginning of this year, I set a goal for myself to run a half marathon. At 247 lbs, even that felt so out of reach considering I could barely run a single mile . I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew I wanted to see how far I could push myself.

If you know anything about my brother, you know he’s the type of person who inspires everyone around him to give their all. When April came around, he convinced me to take things a step further, promising that if I committed to the full marathon, he’d run every mile by my side. Fast forward a few months, hundreds of miles, and more long runs than I can count, @rickymuzzall and I crossed the finish line 10 minutes faster than my original goal.

Easily one of the hardest things I’ve ever put myself through, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. My brother could’ve run a completely different race, but instead he chose to share every mile of mine. Having him there through it all made crossing that finish line that much more special.

Beyond grateful for everyone who supported me along the way, especially my boys for hopping onto the course and mobbing those last few miles with me. Couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share that moment with.

First marathon in the books. Definitely not the last.

LB Half Marathon 2026

Missed my goal by 61 seconds, I wasn’t prepared for the elevation or the amount people I had to run around. Overall great experience, we’ll be back faster next time.

More importantly I’m proud of all my P3 girls for stepping outside their comfort zone and pushing themselves.🤞🏼❤️

Today, we’re proud to officially introduce Project VIII, our team for the @noshortcutstt 120-mile relay from Los Angeles to San Diego.

Eight people, two drivers, and one big challenge ahead. In 18 days, we’ll take this journey on together: sharing the miles, pushing through the tough moments, and carrying the support of our community with us from start to finish. We’re excited for what’s ahead, and proud of the work it took to bring this team together.

This journey has never been ours alone. To our sponsors, the people and teams partnering with us, everyone helping behind the scenes, and every person who has supported Run Culture, contributed, or been part of our growth: thank you. Every message, resource, and show of support has helped make Project VIII possible. We feel that support, and we’re grateful to represent a community that continues to show up for us.

The countdown is on. 18 days until Los Angeles to San Diego.

Project VIII. No shortcuts. All heart.
