I never complain about 0345 alarms when it means this. Even when I know it’ll be 30° at the top. So glad our schedules collided @ricwilkinson 🙌🏽. The color is leaving the high country soon.

GRAND-FURTHER IS BACK!!! GRAND-FURTHER IS BACK!!! Out of the blue, Profile trail quietly reopened earlier this month and as soon as we heard the news, we reached out to the park to see if we could possibly fit in the race this summer. Soon, we got the answer we had been waiting almost 2 years for! THE RACE IS ON!!! Set your alarms and have your keyboards ready at 8am on July 4th. Registration opens for Grand-Further and will fill up quick. We can’t wait to see you there on August 22nd, 2026!!! Huge shoutout to Foster Ramsey and Ric Wilkinson for joining me to film this new race promo (and carrying 30lbs of camera gear up and down the mountain). Thanks to the park for getting our film permit and race permit turned around so quickly and for getting our beloved Profile trail reopened! Thanks to Linville Central Rescue Squad for getting us on the SAR calendar on such short notice. And thank you all for supporting our dream to host races across our beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. #grandfathermountain #sonycine #wnctrailrunner #trailrunning #trailrunninglife

We love going big out west, but the best hikes are always in your own backyard.
