With Gratitude to Our Sponsors — 31 Years of Culture, Community, and Tradition in Fruitvale! 💀🌼✨

This year is nothing short of monumental, and it wouldn't be possible without the incredible organizations and community partners who continue to believe in the power of culture, unity, and celebration! 💛

For 31 years, the Oakland Día de los Muertos Festival has been more than just an event. It's a celebration of our raíces, a tribute to our ancestors, and a powerful reminder of the resilience and spirit that make Fruitvale so special. 🦋

This year, as we welcome our 34-foot La Catrina de Oakland to the heart of Fruitvale, we're reminded of just how much we can accomplish when our community comes together. What once felt like a dream has become a monumental symbol of cultural pride, belonging, and the generations who have made Oakland home. 🌼💫

To our Presidente, Cultura, Familia, and Padrino sponsors, THANK YOU! 🙌🏽 Your generosity and partnership help us keep our traditions alive, uplift local artists and businesses, and bring more than 100,000 people together for one of Oakland's most beloved celebrations.

Because of you, our culture continues to thrive, our traditions continue to grow, and our community continues to stand tall. 🤩

La Lucha Continúa — Aquí Estamos y No Nos Vamos. ✨

COME WITH ME!!! on a one-day trip to north oakland / temescal + bushrod & a lil @kehlani throwback hometown moment of appreciation 🌊🌹🫶🏼🥳
•
the 510 felt a lil different today — cuz i got to finally see the lil bits of where our TSNMI queen grew up (& some places that i’ve passed by but NEVER REALIZED).
i even got to talk to the owner of @la_calaca_loca taqueria by telegraph & 51st 🌮
&& even see the house where she grew up — 549 53rd st. out of privacy i didn’t knock on the current owner’s door but admired it from a distance ☺️🥳
•
i’ve been following her ever since her poplyfe & cloud 19 times and although i didn’t go to her concert this time around (sighs not me missing another one of her tours 😭) i decided to go to the places her and @jordynlucas_ went to during the twitch live they had on monday :3 —
@kehlani i just want to say that you’ve been a BIG inspiration of chasing my dreams and i’m so PROUD of you. & congrats on finishing the first leg of your world tour 🌎

I'm excited to share that I've been endorsed by AC Transit Director, Jean Walsh. Jean has been a tireless advocate for a rider-focused transportation network, hosts a monthly Car Free Happy Hour, and has lived car-free since 2004, getting around the Bay Area by foot, bike, and public transit.

Jean and I share a belief that parks are only truly "for everyone" if people can actually get to them. Better transit, safer biking and walking connections, and access for people of all incomes and abilities are essential to ensuring that everyone can enjoy what East Bay Regional Parks have to offer. 🌳🚲🚌

It turns out that if you spend enough time talking about parks, bikes, and transit, people eventually stop backing away slowly. 😄

Ballots are arriving now. I'm honored to have Jean's support and would be honored to earn your vote for East Bay Regional Park District Director, Ward 3.

If you take public transportation around Berkeley and the Bay Area, you NEED to know these 3 bus routes! 🚍 @rideact

Did we miss any? Share your suggestions in the comments!
