The groom is an artist and created a stunning sketch of a dragon and a phoenix looking at each other for the escort card wall, a double happiness sign which was transformed to a gobo featured on the oculus of the Mellon during dinner/dancing.

From silk lanterns, origami cranes as accents, architectural floral pieces - the details and beauty were endless and so personal.

Not to mention a traditional lion dance as a surprise to the guests. It was a highly personalized event that made it so special to the couple.

5 months ago, I pitched it

what if we put all 200 guests at ONE looooong table

what if we snaked a serpentine across the entire marble auditorium

what if the seating chart had no cards and no table numbers and only a map

they said, hell yah

so we proceeded to source, rent, hand-measure, and pre-stage 55 tables with 350 feet of linen

An enchanted forest inside the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium 🌿✨

The room is stately and formal, which made a garden feel even more unexpected. Greenery spread across the tables, candlelight kept everything warm and low, and lush organic florals were layered with elegant touches throughout. My fave! Even the stationery and place settings got the forest notes.

I love transforming a space until it’s almost unrecognizable. Immersive design was the goal, and this one was so immersive we forgot we were standing in an auditorium in DC.

For H+N, we brought a little woodland magic to the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.

Against the grandeur of the room, sprawling greenery and lush florals felt almost as though they’d grown there. Candlelight softened the space, while the paper details and place settings carried the garden all the way to each guest’s seat.

My favorite part? Seeing such a formal setting feel intimate, inviting, and full of life.

Sobann was honored to be part of the Korean National Day & Armed Forces Day reception in Washington, D.C. 🇰🇷🇺🇸

On September 29th, at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Korean national anthem rang out in the heart of the U.S. capital, followed by a traditional Korean dance performance. It was a meaningful day celebrating Korea, and we were grateful to be part of it.

We were also honored to participate in the K-Sool, K-Rice, and K-Fish Gallery in collaboration with @gimga_group and @kfoodinus , showcasing Korean food and culture alongside an incredible group of contributors.
