Some actors play a character. Others make you wonder how you ever imagined the character without them.

Michael Maggi and writer/director Riccardo Suriano first met before The Waking Call. Riccardo wrote Alex for Michael, and what began as their first film together became a friendship.

Michael was incredible as Alex. So when HOLLOWED came along, having him step into the role of Thomas just felt natural.

Thomas took him somewhere completely different.
Making this film asked a lot of Michael, physically and emotionally, and he gave everything to the character.

That’s one of the greatest things about filmmaking: finding people you trust, growing together, and years later realizing you’re telling a much bigger story side by side.

We started with Alex.

Now we can’t imagine anyone else as Thomas.

Every horror story begins with a threshold.

Thomas arrives looking for refuge. The camera follows him toward a place that has been waiting for him.

Maybe it’s just the easiest way I know to understand people: by really seeing them, finding a connection and making them feel seen.
And, I guess, myself too 🫀📸

Everything was left exactly where it shouldn’t be.

The past doesn’t come back.
It waits.

House Phone

The story follows a high-stakes meeting between a man and a woman in a single location, where a mysterious “house phone” serves as the catalyst for an intense moral and ethical duel. As the conversation shifts from civil to confrontational, the narrative deconstructs their conflicting ideologies, forcing a raw and unfiltered showdown.

The film strips away traditional cinematic cuts to focus entirely on the shifting power dynamics and the emotional “instant before the shot,” building toward a climax where the characters must face the consequences of their choices in real-time.
