The name and concept were directly inspired by the Headless Horseman from Washington Irving’s classic 1820 short story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

According to historical theories the trend exploded in 1922 following the release of the silent film The Headless Horseman, starring Will Rogers.

It gained a brief resurgence in popularity in 2011, on Facebook, when trends like owling and planking became trends.

Happy 1 year anniversary @authoremilyscotto !

What a special author visit last night with my book club friends!
Emily was so kind to send us not only all the cute bookish things but also a copy of her very first book.

We were honored to not only be able to read her first book, but also got to zoom with her! Thank you again Emily!

Plus now we are SO HOOKED! Book 2 is already out and book 3 comes out spring 2027! Can’t wait to get my hands on them both and maybe talk her into a fourth one ;) !

Pages of Our Past was a cute, cozy, small town romance with great friendship development, overcoming real life’s challenges, found family connection, some fall vibes and so much more!

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was the 9th book of this year's #sisterhoodofthetravelingb🍩🍩ks traveling book club recommended by @bookwormdanii. It was SO good!

Summary:
This is the story of Joan Goodwin, who's intelligence, poise, creativity, and talent have earned her a spot in the NASA space shuttle program. She has always felt a bit different to other women of her time, but in her position she meets a team of men and women who become her found family. Vanessa Ford, an aeronautical engineer on her team, has also found camaraderie in Joan, and their friendship blossoms making their bond inseparable. When their astronaut team finally launches into space, Joan, working at Mission Control, is in charge of guiding them, even when things go devastatingly awry. The crew is in danger and Joan must dig deep into all her training and expertise to get them home, including her beloved Vanessa.

Review:
I now know that I could never have been an astronaut. What an amazing job these men and women have and the insane amount of knowledge and calmness they have to possess is unreal. I have so much respect for this field and this book made me want to learn more about women in the space program going back to the 1980s. I felt so many emotions on Joan's physical and emotional journey, and I loved how her friendship-turned-relationship with Vanessa helped her grow in her confidence and journey in finding herself. My favorite part of this book was Joan's relationship with her niece, Frances, and how fiercely she loved and protected her. And to that end, I wanted to punch Barbara (Joan's sister) in the face. What an abhorrent person- ugh- one of my most hated characters in all books. This was my second TJR book (Daisy Jones was my first), and it has made me want to read more of her backlist. Such a powerful and inspirational read!

Day 12: Spooky, but cute aka SPOOPY
(Spoopy is slang used to describe something that is “spooky” in a cute, silly, or comical way, rather than genuinely frightening)

Is there anything more spoopy than cute smiling little ghosts?!

You may not be able to tell, but underneath those sheets, those ghosts girlies are definitely smiling! 👻

@bookwormdanii my youngest and I keep fighting over who gets to cuddle with Dani the Ghost! My mother-in-law wants me to let you know you are very talented! 🤗 She & my father-in-law also loved my Gettysburg book ghost, @rinny_s_reads Especially how the eyes and mouth were people!! 😱

Sidenote: she may be disappointed in me- I forgot to put away my copy of Sky Daddy that was sitting on the counter. She read the synapsis. 😅✈️🫣🥴 Oh well!! She knows I’m a #weirdo

Another “I can make that!”
And they turned out cute! No fail here!

Thank you @bookwormdanii for inspiring me to continue to create! So fun to have a craft buddy.

Y’all these are super fun and easy!

1.Get a frame. We scored them at @dollartree .

2.Create and print an image (the simpler the better.

3. Trace the image in black. With sharpie or paint pen.

4. Color in your image. Again we used paint pens.

5. Draw lines starting at image out. Free hand or use a ruler. As many lines as you’d like.

6. Color in the shapes. (Drop a ✍️ for the link to the paint pens I love)

7. Take a piece of tin foil (aluminum foil) and crinkle. Put your glass back in then place the foil in and return the back to the frame.
