POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I wrote a new article:

☑️”Improving Sprint Speed in the Weight Room” here https://www.mashelite.com/improving-sprint-speed-in-the-weight-room <Link in Bio>
.
There are several ways that strength coaches can help athletes get faster in the weight room:
.
🔑Get Stronger
.
🔑Get Powerful (Olympic lifts, weighted jumps, etc)
.
🔑Reactive Properties (Heavy eccentric loading, Isometrics, Depth Jumps, Drop Jumps, etc)
.
🔑 Use @gymaware to emphasize Compensatory Acceleration
.
🔑 @shredmillspeed is a perfect tool to work on the 3 primary aspects of sprinting and it’s another measurable
.
🔑Test, Monitor, and Reassess with @vald_performance @swiftperformance @gymaware and @shredmillspeed
.
Come train with us at @risesportsperformance to ensure exact testing for exact programming and ongoing monitoring and reassessments to make sure your athlete or athletes are trending properly.
.
Look we have the best partners are earth 🌍 because we want to provide our athletes, coaches, and parents the best product on earth 🌍! People have never asked to be coached by me for a “good” training program. My athletes expect the best.
.
There’s a new Online Program as well that you can check out while reading the article. I’ll post it separately in my story later. Or:

@cam.james7506 Freshman at @houghftbl taking opening kickoff to the House! P.S. he’s a 6’3” 235lb Linebacker 😳
.
Hardest Freshman worker I’ve ever coached and that’s saying something because I have coached so many beasts.
.
Proud of this kid!

4-Weeks into my own Tactical Program that I designed specifically for @wspolicefoundation and it’s working:
.
Tactical is broad for police, fire, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and then you have Special Forces etc.
.
I designed this one with a performance assessment and subjective questionnaire so I could pinpoint exact needs.
.
Thanks to @gymaware and @bridgeathletic it’s easy to test athletes and deliver a program specific to their individual needs.
.
I’m assessing:
☑️VO2 Max with 1.5 Mile Cooper Institute
☑️Explosive Power with Vertical Leap
☑️Max Power with a Power Clean and @gymaware to measure Peak Power
☑️Lower Body Strength with 1RM estimate to keep things safe
☑️Upper Body Strength with 1RM estimate
☑️Anaerobic Testing with 250m Rower x 2
.
I’m finding it to be the most fun I’ve had because there is something to improve for everyone. I like getting stronger, but there is so much more to focus on for health and longevity.
.
DM me if you’re local and want to work with our Team at @risesportsperformance as a corporation, or as an athlete.

53-yr-old Power, Strength, Anaerobic, and Aerobic Capacity in the same Program. I have been putting this plan together with the @wspolicefoundation for months now.
.
I performed the trial run to make sure it was perfect. So far:
.
☑️VO2 Max ⬆️ 2 points in 2.5 weeks.
.
☑️BB Vertical ⬆️ 3”
.
Strength ⬆️
.
Power ⬆️
.
Body Weight Same
.
Anaerobic Capacity way ⬆️
.
I can’t wait to show final results. @risesportsperformance is ready to support our men and women in Blue!
.
Thanks to @gymaware @bridgeathletic and @vald_performance for the testing and ongoing monitoring.

Thank you @torokhtiy_media for this awesome video of @ryangrimsland ‘s 152kg/335lb Snatch.
.
He mentioned this was up from 110kg/242lb in 2018. I added that video which happened at the Youth Pan American Championships in Colombia 🇨🇴!
.
I also added his 110kg Snatch PR that actually happened two days prior during training.
.
Lots more to come! @usa_weightlifting @vald_performance @risesportsperformance @gymaware @bridgeathletic @ancoretraining @sorinex
.
Thank you to all of my partners! 2028 is going to be amazing!

Velocity-Based Training What it is and isn’t
.
Let me know if you agree, disagree, or have questions.

What it isn’t:

☑️The Dynamic Effort Method made famous by Westside Barbell Club’s Coach Louie Simmons @westsidebarbellofficial
☑️A New Method or Training System to take the place of what you’re doing now.
☑️A Replacement for Solid Coaching
☑️Some Fancy Device designed for Speed Day
.

What it is:
☑️A Tool Designed to Measure the Intent of any Desired Method example:
➡️Max Effort Bench Press without missing by keeping things >.25m/s
➡️Maximizing Hypertrophy without inducing excessive fatigue by keeping Velocity Loss <25%
☑️They are the Tools of Great Coaches to Quantify:
* Amount of Desired Improvements in each Individual (Power, Strength, Acceleration etc)
* How Accentuated each eccentric repetition really was for AEL
* Bar Path, Power, Squat Jumps, RFD, etc
☑️It’s simply a valuable Tool:
* Fatigue Management
* Auto-Regulation
* Maximize Intent; Any Intent
* Avoid Injury by Avoiding going to failure with Minimum Velocity Thresholds
* 1RM Prediction
* Bar Path, RFD, Rate of Max Power, Eccentric v Concentric, etc
☑️After Athletes are tested with Force Plates for their Dynamic Strength Index and Reactive Strength Index especially ForceDecks from @vald_performance 😉, VBT monitors desired improvements @gymaware
.
Exactly what we do at @risesportsperformance and what the amazing coaches do at @performance_psu

Tactical Strength and Conditioning has become something near and dear to my heart. Here’s an article explaining what it takes to design a great Tactical Program:
.
➡️ https://www.mashelite.com/building-the-best-tactical-program/ <Link in Bio>
.
Elements don’t change but application will.
.
1️⃣ Assessment both Quantitative and Quantitative to understand the Person. Hopefully soon with @vald_performance and @gymaware
.
2️⃣ Speed: but speed might mean acceleration on the @shredmillspeed or it might mean a Vertical Leap.
.
3️⃣ Power: maybe it’s a Clean, a Trap Bar Jump, or maybe a fast Leg Press. Upper, Lower, Horizontal, and Rotational. @gymaware will ensure proper zone.
.
4️⃣ Strength. Maybe a Back Squat, Belt Squat, or Leg Press. Upper, Lower, Horizontal, and Rotational. @gymaware will lead the way.
.
5️⃣ Relative Strength and Strength Endurance
.
6️⃣ Tactical Work Capacity
.
7️⃣ Aerobic and Anaerobic Conditioning
.
All delivered on the @bridgeathletic App.
.
I can’t wait to announce who we are working with at @risesportsperformance and @riseindoorsports
.

I have been working on a project for months with a local tactical group (to be named in the near future) local to @riseindoorsports so I decided to pilot the new program.
.
Here’s a glimpse of testing. Notice with @gymaware I don’t have to worry about hurting any of the Tactical Athletes as there will be minimum velocity thresholds allowing me to Estimate Total Force Output without risking failure.
.
I’m at @vald_performance HQ right now here in Brisbane, Australia and I 1. Love the company and 2. Love the city.
.
More on Tactical tomorrow as I drop a new article. More on #VALDCON2026 later as well.
.
For now, know that Tactical Athletes need testing in:
☑️Strength
☑️Speed
☑️Power
☑️Movement
☑️VO2 Max
☑️Anaerobic Conditioning
☑️Work Capacity
☑️Strength Endurance
.
☑️ @vald_performance makes this process easier
☑️ @gymaware ensures daily intent is met based on the testing
☑️ @bridgeathletic makes it easy to deliver and track.
.
Just wait to learn how the 3 companies combined are going to make this process absolutely incredible! @risesportsperformance is about to be even better!

Baseball players need first-step quickness AND horsepower.
We drilled secondary leads + sprint starts, then:
300lb squat at 148lb (15yo) + 24” box jumps from 6 feet.
That’s how you steal bags and close gaps. Most importantly, he’s INCREDIBLY coachable. No ego, just effort. Keep working @red_storm_rising2029
