It’s always good getting out of your comfort zone. This time it was heading over to the land of Sunder 🤣. But in all seriousness, as an instructor it’s essential that new experiences are embraced and Learnt from. I was honoured and fortunate to be able to attend sifu/guru Burton Richardson’s jun fan Jeet Kune Do seminar. Thank you to Jeff Hollows for organising and David Roger’s for being my great training partner. #jkdunlimited #junfangungfu #brucelee #kungfu #martialartslife

Another massive thanks to @rising_crane for delivering such an awesome workshop and to everyone who attended 💪🏼

The Martial Method has run several top workshops bringing together experts from all over the sports or martial arts world

David taught me for many years and has shaped the way I practice and think about my practice - train your body, free your mind!

If you want a unique perspective into traditional martial arts but with a link to modern sports science I encourage you to check out David’s online academy

People are quick to rubbish traditional kung fu and its significance to modern martial arts/MMA when they could really be missing the secret sauce to their practice!

We were honoured to host David Rogers from the @rising_crane this weekend for an incredible immersive workshop. 🥋✨

What makes David’s teaching so unique isn’t just his personal depth of knowledge, but the long lineage of Kung Fu and martial arts he carries wisdom that can be traced back centuries. He did an amazing job of showing how those timeless principles connect with modern sports science, making them both practical and powerful for today’s fighters.

We explored some game-changing concepts, including:

⚡ Increasing power in striking
🤲 The balance of tension and softness for speed & impact
🦶 Angled footwork for efficiency
🌬️ Diaphragmatic breathing and its role in fighting

After learning under David for so many years, I’m always grateful, but having him in our studio sharing 30+ years of experience with the team was truly special. 🙏🔥

Until the next one 💪🏼

Two amazing workshops run at The Martial Method studio this Saturday by @rising_crane

Amazing to see some old faces returning for tai chi and observing my space being used for something different!

The combat principles workshop really helped fill some gaps in my students progression and can see the instant benefits from David’s coaching

It was great seeing everyone and old and new, look forward to running something again in the near future 💪🏼 👊🏼
