“I’ve been thinking about what you shared, especially when you said you felt forgotten by people you thought were your friends.

I know that feeling more than I wish I did.

After I retired from the Army, there were a lot of days where it felt like people forgot about me. Twenty-two years of serving, deployments, sacrifices, and leading soldiers… then one day the phone gets quieter, the invitations stop, and you realize the world keeps moving. It’s a lonely feeling.

That’s why your words hit me.

I’ve known you for over a while, and I’ve watched you build an incredible life. You built a business . You’ve earned the trust of people most only hear about, and you’ve done it through hard work, dedication, sacrifice, talent, and heart. But what people see is the successful business owner.

I see the woman behind all of that.

I see the daughter who would choose her mom over and over again, even when it’s exhausting. I see someone who’s been carrying the weight of everyone else for a long time. I see someone trying to be everything to everyone, and that’s a burden most people will never truly understand.

Please don’t mistake being tired for being weak. Even the strongest people reach a point where the weight catches up to them. That doesn’t erase your strength. It proves how much you’ve been carrying. I’ve been there.

Your mom doesn’t need a perfect daughter. She needs you. And from everything I’ve seen over the last decade, you’ve shown up with more love, sacrifice, and grace than most people ever could.

So if you ever start believing you’ve been forgotten, remember this:

You are not forgotten.

I see the sacrifices no one applauds. I see the tears you try to hide. I see the nights you’re exhausted but still choose to show up. I see your heart.

And I’m really proud of you.

Keep going, friend. Not because you have to prove anything to anyone, but because the woman you’ve become is someone worth admirin
