I found old footage of my punk band [destitute] playing in Portland in 2007 and uploaded it to my YouTube channel.

Our ep [left for dead] that was released in 2010 is sold out but we have a bandcamp and will be streaming on major platforms [except spotify] soon. 2025 makes 15 years since it came out. 🎉 Links in bio. 🎵🎸🎶

Violet is @VioletInRuins, a one-girl musical force from Portland, Oregon. She even did everything on her “Trauma Queen” EP except the production. These songs reflect Violet’s own life experiences. She is a testament of perseverance. She is a survivor. She has something to say. We all need to listen. I’ve been chatting with Violet for a while now as I repeat-listened to her very impressive EP. With each listen I needed to know more. Finally, I was compelled to ask for the back stories to her songs. She replied, “I wrote all the music during an Ableton trial period and then didn’t do anything for a long time cuz I couldn’t afford the DAW and didn’t have a microphone for lyrics. Once I bought Ableton Live and got a mic, it was a matter of writing lyrics. I remember reading something that said ‘If you had one year left to live, what would you do?’ and my answer was ‘spend time with family and record an album’. So here it is. My legacy. My songs and lyrics will be around long after I am gone so it was important to me to sing about things that mattered.” Read her song-by-song back stories within the comments section below. 🦇🖤 Download “Trauma Queen” at VioletInRuins.bandcamp.com/album/trauma-queen

First time singing ME TOO. Exactly two years ago. I sent this to a few people at the time and received great feedback which convinced me to make it a real song. It's humbling to remember trying not to cry in my car and to hear the finished product now.
