Before stepping into his own as @rizikmusic, Hisham Dahud spent nearly 15 years behind the scenes of electronic music, working alongside pioneers like Richie Hawtin, DJ Shadow, Loco Dice, Tale of Us, and Junkie XL.

From the clubs of Ibiza to the global festival circuit, he spent years immersed in the culture, witnessing electronic music evolve from the inside.

But something was missing.

A lifelong drummer, producer, and composer, Hisham loved electronic music. Yet the traditional DJ format never quite spoke to the musician in him.

He wanted to approach electronic music the way a band approaches a performance. To play it. To improvise. To take risks. To create something that could only happen once.

That pursuit eventually became RIŽIK.

Today, he’s building a new relationship between human and machine, bringing musicianship, spontaneity, and physical performance back to the electronic stage.

“When I get out of this, and I will, I’m going to give it my all. I’m going to give it my best…And that moment, that sickness brought it all rushing back to me.”

When Rizik and I sat down in the studio after tracking the acoustic take, the conversation went deeper than just chords and tempo.
What does it actually mean to stay “Forever Young”?

The full in-studio interview and Q&A is live on YouTube now.

What part of the conversation resonated with you most?

Right after we wrapped that one-shot acoustic take in the studio, we kept the cameras rolling.

I sat down with Rizik to dig into the questions you’ve been asking about “Forever Young”—and a few deeper, unexpected ones he brought to the table. We got into the raw backstory, the health setback that sparked it, and what living with zero regrets actually looks like.

Full in-studio Q&A drops tomorrow on YouTube.

Until then, if you haven’t heard the one-take acoustic version yet, tap the link in bio to stream it now. ⚡️

What’s one question you would’ve asked about the song? Drop it 👇
