Hip-hop improv fueled by audience suggestions, featuring hilarious scenes, jaw-dropping freestyle raps, wild characters, & nonstop laughs!

FLOWPOCKET is an hour-long hip-hop improv show starring RJ Williams and Derek Demko. The duo takes audience suggestions and weaves them into hilarious scenes and jaw-dropping freestyle raps. The veteran improvisers have performed hundreds of shows together, and are current members of groups like Epic Rap Battles of History, Shamilton, Baby Wants Candy, and North Coast. Join the duo as they spit nonstop punchlines, play side-splitting characters, and create an hour of the dumbest hip-hop improv you’ve ever seen.

Hi it’s Leah. I’m clearing out my phone but also finding some Armory gems.

Here’s one at our first home (The Tank on 42nd) back when we were at 11:30 and allowed hosting bits. We did an SNL outro but instead it turned into opera and a waltz with performers and willing audience.

Pretty typical.

Holy moly I got to play keys for @unrehearsedmusicals yesterday!! Last year thanks to the incredibly talented and kind @vorpahlsword I was recommended to the also incredibly talented and kind @capricampeau to play rehearsals for @royaltyfreeimprov. Since then I’ve had the privilege of meeting and performing with so many crazy funny people, and I’ve made so many friends. To be invited to play on Amy and Capri’s podcast felt like a full circle moment, I’m just so dang grateful to both of them!! @rjaydub.ii and @derekdemko it was so great to meet you, you two are fire! @shelbyonline and @dangelo1260 it’s always a pleasure to perform with you!

In this class, students will learn the basics of creating a hip hop improv scene. We will dive into various styles of flow and find one that fits each student. There will be exercises to introduce students to rhyming structure, character exploration through rapping, and developing hooks. Students will implement these through long form improv scene work and will be able to perform a montage of scenes including rap.

PLEASE NOTE: No class on Sep. 26th
