The most special day for my most special girl. I’m still not really able to put into words what it’s like to experience the end of treatment. I’m still processing a lot of feelings. We had a big party in July but this day of simply going to clinic, doing our normal routine of vitals and labs and then ringing the bell, knowing we’d be back in a month for more labs, really showed me how deep cancer treatment has been engrained into our daily lives for over two years. Maybe someday it will feel like it’s not part of our lives anymore, but right now I haven’t quite detached from it. I know a lot of families feel the same after making it to the “other side” because although it might not include chemo, it can still include side effects, monitoring, managing, hoping and praying.

Say a prayer for my girl that she has been fully cured and will never experience cancer again or any of the long term side effects associated with the many different chemotherapies her little body has received. We trust that God will heal and protect her and that she was made for a big, beautiful, healthy life ahead.

I am so grateful for our providers at @phxchildrens who make this a special day for kids. ❤️🎗️
