Hi! 👋 I have some new friends here on IG, so I wanted to introduce myself. I would also love to learn more about you.

🏝 I’m Ali Wenzke and I ❤️ summer. It’s my favorite season. You’ll be seeing many Lake Michigan shots these next couple months.

🏝 I grew up in Miami, FL, but settled down in the Chicago suburbs with my family. I’m still coming to terms with the fact that we have 3 teenage kids. It’s strange how kids grow up so fast and yet parents don’t age, right? Right? 😂

🏝 Dan & I moved 10 times in 11 years, criss-crossing the country, which is why I wrote the book, THE ART OF HAPPY MOVING, and started the blog by the same name.

🏝 My happy places are: anywhere by the water, the Chicago Botanic Gardens, the library, a bookstore, a comedy club, a theater (especially if it’s playing a musical), home, & friends’ homes.

🏝 Activities that make me happy: reading, playing guitar, doing Sudoku, hanging out with my family & friends, eating chocolate chip cookies, watching stand-up comedy, and being outside.

🏝 I am a real estate agent because I love helping people and I believe in happy moving.

🏝 I like trying new activities because I never know what I’m going to enjoy. Zip lining? Not really my thing because I’m scared of heights, but it was still an exciting afternoon. Taking guitar lessons, on the other hand, was a great choice. Although I’ve been slacking on guitar this year, it’s an activity that brings me so much joy.

That’s a little about me. How about you? Where are you from and what are your happy places/activities?

Who run the world? Girls (girls) 💃🏾💃🏻💃🏼

Today is International Women’s Day. I am celebrating the achievements and contributions of women writers. This year’s theme is Break the Bias. Today I stand against gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping. Happy International Women’s Day!

and I took to my YouTube Channel, because I search alot on there, but holy moly! I got such a fright!! my shorts video in 2 days has shot up to just over 300 views! So thank you to the YouTube community on that one. 2nd search - Is a hymn we used to sing at high school "strong and constant is my love" 3rd search - Is "Ramblin' Rose" because @juliablakeauthor recently announced a new title of her book, "Rambling Rose", and I thought it sounded familiar and I was correct. 4th search - kittens, because I love, love cats!! 5th search - my all time favourite song at the moment "Mummers Dance" by @loreenamckennitt

Day 18 of the #writes4women #writes4womenchallenge hosted by @w4wpodcast and the prompt is #quoteyourself "A suspenseful, macabre ghost story, throwing you from past to present, with a mystery well worth figuring out. Superbly written and thought out, plot twist thrills and chills. This is definitely a page turner and I throughly enjoyed it."

Day 17 of the #writes4women #writes4womenchallenge hosted by @w4wpodcast and the prompt is #bestwritingadvice and this was certainly given to me to an author that I do not take for granted from what she says, her words have weight and I respect them. Naturally there is a difference between an author and a reviewer but the principal is the same, re read the work you have done, go back to it with fresh eyes and let it rest a few days. This seems to work for me and I'm always finding autocorrect has put an extra gobbledegook word in some where! And grammar is not my strongest area. Thank you Ellen @ellenreadauthor for your wise words.

Day 15 of the #writes4women #writes4womenchallenge hosted by @w4wpodcast and the prompt is #meandmymuse and going for a walk outside near where I live seems to do it for me. I love people's gardens and not necessarily flowers and trees but other things catch my eye too, shapes, contrasts, where its positioned in the garden, right down to whether a recent tree has been severely pruned.

Day 14 of the #writes4women #writes4womenchallenge hosted by @w4wpodcast and the prompt is #writingplaylist .. and I don't have one of those as I create my reviews from the visualisation from my own head, so instead, I thought I would show part of my creative list, called "creative vibe" and you are quite welcome to seek me out on Spotify as I have shared it so the public can see. My favourite song is Loreena McKennitt's @loreenamckennitt - the Mummers' Dance (Celtic music) and while her song was playing I came up with this creation. Photo is our Nashi Pear Tree and created through PicArt.
