Water Safety Week starts today! 💦🌊🐠

From Monday 19th to Sunday 25th October, swimmers across the whole swim school will be developing essential water safety skills and learning how to stay safe in and around water, just in time for the half term holidays 🩵

Throughout the week, swimmers will focus on:
🌊 Safe entry and exit
💧 Floating and treading water
🐠 Recognising hazards in pools and the sea
🛟 Understanding safety equipment, including life jackets

Stage 3 swimmers and above: Please bring clothes that can get wet, such as old clothes or pyjamas, with swimwear underneath. Long sleeves and bottoms are recommended where possible, helping swimmers practise moving through water while fully clothed.

We’re looking forward to a fun and educational week, building confidence and essential skills! 💙

Any questions, just drop us a message! 📩

Preventing drowning starts with knowledge, practical skills, and communities that are prepared to stay safe around water.

In Soroti District, we continued with our Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions, equipping participants with essential swimming skills and water safety knowledge. By building the capacity of trainers to share these skills within their communities, we are strengthening local efforts to prevent drowning, promote safer practices around water, and improve preparedness during water-related emergencies.

Together, we are building safer communities where water safety becomes everyone’s responsibility.

This week, 115 trainees, including 73 females and 42 males, took part in introductory swimming sessions focused on water confidence, bubble blowing, floating, kicking and gliding, with some already progressing to arm movements.

Instructors from the first cohort are also supporting the new trainees through practical demonstrations, helping them understand and build on the skills being taught. Alongside the training, engagement with the district team and increased mobilization efforts are underway to strengthen participation and support the upcoming documentary screening.

Every lesson is a step towards safer waters and stronger drowning prevention efforts.

Ocean Warriors Lifesaving Club UAE contribution to RLSS UK Annual Restart a Heart Campaign ❤️ 🫀 today, 16th October

Every year Restart a Heart Day, a campaign led by Rescuscitation Council UK, helps raise awareness about the importance of learning CPR, recognising the signs of cardiac arrest, and having the confidence to take action when every second counts.

The campaign aims to improve survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests by encouraging more people to develop these life-saving skills.

At Ocean Warriors Lifesaving Club UAE, we are incredibly proud to deliver the programmes of RLSS UK and SLSGB, empowering our young lifesavers and our communities with real-world skills that could one day help save a life.

Learning CPR is more than just a qualification. It is the confidence to step forward in an emergency, the ability to help others, and a skill that can truly make a difference.

Together, we are creating the next generation of lifesavers 🤲🧡🩵

❤️ Restart a Heart Day | Friday 16 October ❤️

Today is #RestartAHeartDay, an annual initiative led by Resuscitation Council UK to help more people learn CPR, become #ResusReady and improve survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.

This year, Coral Reef went big, delivering three fantastic sessions to help our community learn a potentially lifesaving skill! 🫀🙌
💙 1. CPR at Coral Reef – We delivered a CPR session for our regular Aqua Aerobics attendees, reaching over 20 members of our community and helping them build the confidence to act in an emergency.
💙 2. Times Square, Bracknell – For the second year running, we delivered a full session for Bracknell Forest Council, covering infant, child and adult CPR, alongside demonstrations on how to use a defibrillator.
💙 3. The Lexicon Town Centre – We took CPR training into the heart of Bracknell, offering members of the local community the opportunity to learn this vital, lifesaving skill for free.

We’re incredibly proud of our Coral Reef team for leading these sessions and helping create a community where more people feel confident to step in, take action and potentially save a life when it matters most. ❤️

You never know when knowing CPR could make the ultimate difference. Every person who learns is another person who could help save a life.
Learn CPR. Be ready. Make a difference. 🫶
