I’m co-hosting what promises to be an amazing evening of eclectic experimental and improvised soundscapes created by some leading exponents of the #soundart genre. Curious? Expect trippy, hypnotic vibes, unexpected conjunctions, cinematic sounds, music concrète, tape loops and manipulation, improvised vocals and (no surprise) gongs - though not the ones I commonly use in my quantum gong baths. All accompanied by specially created videos.

Performers are @arconicsound @kimbalbumstead @slatepipe @floodedaccess and your hosts (including myself) @rm23_uk

The venue is @goldengoosetheatre a well-known fringe venue with a penchant for something different.

Come and explore the unusual with us! Tickets 🎫 are on ra.co (🔗 in bio) #hushhour #alimariatuma #signaltonoiselive

Your hosts for Signal to Noise LIVE! RM23.

RM23 is an experimental sound ensemble creating immersive, charismatic soundscapes driven by our diverse musical and artistic perspectives. We’re inspired by musique concretè, drone, noise, ambient music and live manipulation, and our evolving improvisations play with the tension between stillness, intensity, texture, and natural organic sounds; using field recordings, treated objects, gongs, synths, and voice. We are: Trisha McGahan, Lee Coxon, Shaun Malone, and Alicia Mâ Ri Atu Mâ. #experimentalsound #improvisation #soundscapes #rm23_uk

Signal to Noise LIVE! Act 2: Flooded Slate Pipes

The Flooded Slate Pipes - Martin Lau and Andy Rowe
This is the long-overdue performance project from Martin Lau (Flooded Access) and Andy Rowe (The Slate Pipe Banjo Draggers).

They have worked together since 2018 in a curator/artist relationship that has evolved (mutated) into a mutual (mutant) creative collaboration. For this performance, they combine manipulated cassette tapes, woodwind, percussive found object (just the one) and granular synthesis.”
