Closed out our summer run at Dorothea Pocket Park with a little HEART WORK by @brycedetroit 🥹🫶✨ So grateful to the @cityofberkley + @degcallbusiness + @bombshelltreatbar for bringing this collaboration to life. Ten years ago, Beebe Arts LLC was founded with the mission of designing and implementing solutions focused on social and educational equity. At the time, our goal was simple: meet needs where we already are. 🌱 To accomplish this, our founder built the business around relationship-first services and products. We covered our expenses, made sure subcontractors got paid, and added value that bolstered profits for our clients. Impact and improved quality of life were our truest metric. That often meant doing a few things deeply and excellently. 🤝🏽 This approach worked. Over the past ten years, we have been able to create solutions, processes, and infrastructures for our clients and communities that are bespoke to their context, tailored to their constraints, and robust enough to last. 🛠️ Every service, program, and offering is work we are not only proud of, but that created a tangible improvement in the social and/or educational realities of the communities we set out to serve. ✨ To celebrate reaching this ten-year milestone, we went back to our roots and focused on uplifting where we already are. We celebrated across two community events with the goal of doing what we’ve been doing this whole time: bolstering the existing, relevant, and often overlooked work of those around us. 🎉 A birthday celebration and the 9th Annual Kite Festival were the perfect sites to celebrate our Ten-Year Anniversary. Whatupdoe family! Am touching base with this follow-up to my own active conversation regarding #BelleIsle remaining in the commons. There is an active threat against its future, let us not be naive about that. This is me simply reinforcing that the threat is real and the deceptive narrative campaign framing the “proposal to privatize” is actually in motion. As seriously as we take our love, connection, and our access to Belle Isle, we should also take any idea (especially a published one that’s getting increasing media promotion) of it being taken away. —— The overwhelming majority of Us [native + indigenous Detroiters] are vehemently opposed any idea to to privatize our sacred land. We must continue to make that very clear, loud and undeniable AF. —— PS- @local4news @blackenterprise , there is no “majority of Detroit” that wants that fugazzi privatized 💩.
