The way he hams it up for the camera is genuinely absurd. And it’s only for my big camera, he doesn’t care about the little one or my phone 🙄

I got my big camera out for the first time in a while for his birthday, and he was stupid excited to show off in front of @roamingwithreds. This boy knows his angles 😂

There’s something so so special about these two and their friendship. Zuko gets along with most dogs he meets but he has a special respect and love for Maya.

A moment for all the summer memories we’ve made so far.
I know I’m lucky to get so much time each summer to hike, camp, and have the time of my life with my dogs, husband, and friends. I never take it for granted.
Sadly this is my last week of freedom before I have to be a normal working human again. 😢

Not sure what clicked recently but I think we’re starting to figure this life thing out.

And I’ll never get over the boy who got me to this point. He’s one of the best adventures I could have ever asked for.

PART TWO (+ MORE PUPPIES!)🌟

The puppy talk continues, and this week we are officially introducing Shadow—the newest puppy to join the mix—and talking all about the reality of finding, raising, and training your perfect sport and working partner.

🎧 Grab your leash, head out for a walk, and tune in now! Link in bio to listen to S2 EP2 on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast fix!

We’re breaking down:
🧠 The Drive Spectrum: The massive variations in temperament within the breed and navigating working vs. show lines.
💤 The Holy Grail (The “Off Switch”): Why a natural ability to settle and neutral social behaviors matter just as much as a high work ethic.
🧬 Pedigrees & Health: How diligent research, connections, and lineage help you manifest the ultimate sports partnership.
🐾 Aussies vs. Border Collies: How distinct breed traits shape training responsiveness and daily life.

From celebrating the goofy quirks of the breed to embracing the unpredictability of puppyhood, we’re sharing our raw, honest experiences with moving from softer dogs to confident, high-drive powerhouses.

If you’ve ever wondered what really goes into choosing a high-drive dog, this one is for you!

looking for peace and quiet on a holiday weekend?
might I recommend to you… not camping with 7 dogs

but if you’re down for a chaotic, good time 1000/10 would recommend chasing lakes with friends 🫡

a snapshot of all the little “firsts” we had these last few days: some fun socialization activities, meeting new people & pups, visiting new places, and trying new things

— we’re taking it all at her pace, but also enjoying the ride.
