Some loves are not remembered.
They linger beneath the skin, waiting for the dark to call them home.

You left a handprint on my heart.
It never faded.
Some nights I press against the ache
just to remember how your absence feels.
Love made a home in the places
I swore no one would ever touch,
then left every door open
for longing to move in.

Only in dreams do we
forget who walked away.
Only there do your eyes devour me
without guilt, without goodbye.
I let you ruin my sleep
because it is kinder than waking.
I’d rather burn in the fire of wanting
than freeze in a life
where you never wanted me back.

If love is a sin,
then let heaven keep its distance.
I have spent too many nights
kneeling before memories
that still know exactly
where to kiss a wound
without ever closing it.

ये दुनिया सिर्फ़ चेहरों की, इबादत करना जानती है,
ये जज़्बातों की खुशबू को, कहाँ पहचानती है?
यहाँ हर रात ढलती है, नए वादों के साये में,
मगर टूटे हुए दिल की, तड़प ये कब मानती है?
वो जो ऊँचे गगन पर, चांद तन्हा मुस्कुराता है,
सितारों की रफ़ाक़त में भी, अपना दर्द छुपाता है।
उसे मालूम है उसकी, कोई महफ़िल नहीं यहाँ,
