With the new season right around the corner, it’s time for a new chapter!

The past two seasons, I’ve been rebuilding my name and sharpening my coaching philosophy as the Head JV Coach at @mountainviewhsbasketball . Thank you to Coach Hall for giving me the opportunity to find my identity as a coach and for the guidance along the way. I’ll always appreciate it.

This summer, I joined the @duartehoops family as the Assistant Varsity Coach alongside Coach Gold. I’m ready to learn, grow, and take my coaching to the next level.

One of my biggest blessings is coaching alongside my son, Coach Julian, who serves as the Head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. We’re ready to put in the work, build something meaningful, and help Coach Gold and the Duarte family take this program to the next level.

New chapter. New challenges. Same mentality.

Toughness. Discipline. Accountability.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our own Alonzo (Zo) Woodson. 💔

We will always cherish the memories and the time we were blessed to have with you-the home games, road trips, locker room craziness, and most of all, the brotherhood and team bonding we shared.

You always had a way of keeping the mood light and giving us something to laugh about. Your presence brought energy and laughter to our team, and those memories will stay with us forever.

This heartbreaking news has shocked and deeply saddened the entire 2022–2023 Workman Lobos Basketball Team. You were more than a teammate you were our brother, and you will always be a part of our Lobos family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family and everyone who loved you. We pray that your journey into the afterlife is peaceful and that your spirit continues to watch over your loved ones and your Lobos brothers.

You will never be forgotten, Zo. We will miss you always.

Rest in Paradise, brother. 🕊️🙏🏽
Once a Lobo, always a Lobo.

Congrats to JumpShotz homegrown player @za03_aye on being selected as the Montview League’s Most Valuable Player and 4 time league Champ!

Your hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to your team truly paid off. Being named MVP isn’t just about stats it’s about the value you bring to your team and how much your teammates rely on you for success. You’ve shown leadership, toughness, and commitment every time you step on the court.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to watch you grow and compete. Keep working, keep leading, and keep elevating your game. The journey is just getting started. 💪🏀 #JumpShotz #MVP #HardWorkPaysOff #4timeleaguechamp

Last night was bittersweet. I couldn’t help but think about the last four years watching you grow every single season, not just as a player, but as a young man. It’s been an incredible ride.

You came in as a freshman with big dreams and high hopes. We all thought you would hit the ground running. Instead, those first two seasons humbled you. The growth wasn’t flashy it was steady, quiet, earned. And sometimes, that kind of growth builds something even stronger.

Making the shift to a new environment within the same league was nerve wracking. But being under a coach who understood your goals and encouraged them. That was the turning point.

The last two seasons, you made tremendous jumps. There were moments when everyone wanted you to do more score more, force more, take over more. But when you truly understand the game, you realize something different. You slowed the game down. You knew exactly when to strike. That level of control is rare. Very few players can dictate a game the way you did.

This past season, your confidence was undeniable. You allowed others to shine in their moments because you knew your moment would come. That’s maturity and leadership.

I admire you for always playing the game the right way and never changing for anyone. There were times this season when the extra work wasn’t about adding something new it was about keeping your calm, sharpening the fundamentals, staying grounded. Toward the end, I told you there was nothing more I could teach you at this level. You had the knowledge. You understood the game.

You didn’t let multiple injuries stop you. You played through the season banged up. You didn’t let being sick stop you from competing in CIF. You didn’t back down when unexpected challenges came into the league in fact, you wanted everyone at full strength so you could truly earn that league championship. When the final buzzer sounded, you were calm and grateful.

There’s one final piece of your goal that’s out of your control now. you embody everything a true student-athlete should be and everything a coach and league should be proud to represent.

Your basketball career may have closed but your legacy will remain.

Isaiah Aguayo
4 Year Montview League Champ
4 Year Varsity player
4 Consecutive CIF appearances
1 State Playoff appearance
2nd team All-League (Sophmore)
1st All league and Academic Scholar Athlete of the year (Junior Year)
4.0 and above GPA
Senior Year Accolades pending.

JumpShotz’ very own Isaiah Aguayo is entering his 4th consecutive CIF playoff season.

Isaiah’s success has been earned the right way through hard work, toughness, and playing the game the right way, no matter what anyone says. If his team needs him to score, pass, rebound, take charges, or gut it out through injuries, including multiple ankle injuries and multiple slipped disc (Senior season), he does whatever it takes to get the job done.

He’s not a flashy player that puts up the most points every game (which we know he could), he does what it takes to win, regardless of what team he is on.

Isaiah, your JumpShotz family is proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished. Good luck on your CIF run! #SeniorYear #Classof2026
