Artist @robertfrystudio we first met at university over 25 years ago.

I’ve had the privilege of watching his practice evolve from the very beginning, and over the years I’ve found myself returning to photograph him and his work whenever the opportunity arises.

Through all those years, we’ve been there for one another, a friendship that has grown alongside our respective practices.

Robert has been a constant source of inspiration to my own work; his way of seeing, making and questioning the world has undoubtedly shaped my own visual language.

It’s a rare thing to witness an artist’s journey from the beginning, and rarer still to have the friendship alongside it.

“Photographers are always photographing something that has happened or is happening, the past or the present, but they’re also always photographing something as it will be seen in the future.”

Another wonderful Thursday Vodka Society evening celebrating David’s and Jim’s birthdays in style🥂

A real pleasure to have Peter Gordeno back on the piano, bringing his magic to another memorable night of music, laughter and friendship. Even Giuseppe took to the stage!

Great company, great memories and another reminder of why we love Our People so much ❤️

One of the highlights of my week in London was visiting artist Robert Fry in his studio and spending time with both old and new works.

I first fell in love with Robert’s paintings through Ilona Paccia at Villa di Geggiano, where she so wonderfully promotes and celebrates artists and their work. Out of the entire collection, Robert’s was the work I connected with most deeply, so it felt like a real privilege to finally meet him and to be invited into his inner sanctum, the space where his creativity comes to life and his inner world is projected onto canvas.

I feel his work carries enormous emotional depth and psychological tension, layers of vulnerability, strength, tenderness and unease all existing together. His paintings feel like reflections on the contradictions and tensions of what it means to be fully human. @villa_di_geggiano_london @ilonapacia @robertfrystudio
