A German traveller went to Varanasi to sit with an Aghori — one of the most misunderstood figures in Indian spiritual life — and came back with a way to live. 🇮🇳🧡

Robin Leo Hoffmann first touched India as a toddler, went back alone at eighteen, and returned a decade later for the Aghor Foundation’s ashram and its teacher, “Sadhu Ji” — a monk who sleeps three hours a night and begins his mornings with something close to affirmations.

What he found wasn’t skulls and ash. It was a reformed order building schools and farms, feeding the community and taking children off the street. “If Aghoris only scare people, they aren’t serving their purpose.” When Robin wished aloud for a world built on those values, the monk simply said: “We just have to do it. We can create exactly this world.”

He isn’t Indian — but he carries India out into the world, through his Still Human podcast. That’s who this conversation is for.

Recently, indie podcaster @robinlehoff met an Aghori sadhu in Varanasi, India, who explained what it means to die while still alive.

In his response, he talks about the state of Samadhi, which many of us experience without even realising it. @stillhuman_podcast

How far are you willing to go for your art, and what have you already sacrificed?

That’s what I ask @anshumanvocals_ a charming and extraordinarily talented musician in Himachal, in the remote north of India. He doesn’t even try to pose big. He gives himself to the conversation, open and warm, and admits his mistakes: “I am a very normal person. Like I have my flaws. Like I also lie. Like I also do bad things. I accept it.”

An episode of @stillhuman_podcast, hosted by @robinlehoff that invites you to look again at your own creativity, your own creative power and your own dreams. Online now on Spotify, YouTube and everywhere you get podcasts. Comment "podcast" and I'll send you a link. As always, I’m happy about feedback ❤️🔗

You can quit the race for money and start a new one for enlightenment. 🏃‍♂️➡️🧘
A monk with twenty years in robes calls it „same way to rush.“
So Robin asked him: „You have no goal?“ 👀
His answer: „we can balance it.“ ⚖️
Which race are you running right now? 👇
